GregP Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Months ago I built a profile from my X-Keys Professional that replicates the UFC and parts of the CDU, and it was working fine; but ever since I installed 1.1.0.9, it seems that all of my key presses on the X-Keys, although they seem to work correctly outside of the game, suddenly don't work in-game anymore. In particular, all of the chorded keys get deactivated, e.g. if I have a key bound to UFC "2" (LCTL + LSHF + 2), when I press the key in-game, all I get is a "2" generated, which causes the LAAP Path Hold switch to be activated. I'm using the latest Macroworks3 (1.0.3.2) so I don't think an outdated version is the problem; has anybody else had any weird X-Keys behavior since installing 1.1.0.9?
rmk80 Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Ok just a wild guess since im not a xkeys user but do you run run both the game as well as the software for xkeys as administrator? Cause I had a similar issue using trackir and that solved it!
GregP Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 Yup, admin on both. With further testing I now realize that it's not just my X-Keys: my Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant is doing the same thing: chorded assignments work fine in Windows, but once in-game, they all get cancelled. If only I'd made a backup of 1.1.0.8, so that I could confirm whether or not it was 1.1.0.9 that caused this!
sungsam Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Exactly the same happens to me with my X52 profile. Everything used to work ok at 1.1.0.8, but not at 1.1.0.9. The profile behaves ok at controller key assigment page inside DCS 1.1.0.9. Inside simulation seems to ignore LCTL LSHF etc. Example 1: I use X52's slider configured with Bands and macro key presses to simulate Boat Switch. So when I RALT+Right (Boat SW Fwd) the sim ignores RALT and inputs only Right (Fly: Roll Right). The outcome of this is uncontrolled rolling behaviour. Example 2: I use X52'S T1/2/3/4 to simulate Engine start/stop (RControl/RAlt) + (Home/End). It ends up inputing Home/End Troobleshoot effort: I created a new clean test profile, nojoy. I clean installed Saitek drivers/software nojoy. I tested both in Saitek 6.6.6.9 and 7.0.2.7 software, nojoy again. It is strange that Controller key assigment page inside DCS recognizes key strokes properly, but not inside simulation. And Yes, I do have a clean Full 1.1.0.9 installation Edited July 29, 2011 by sungsam DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! sungsam Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Following the above post, I have managed to solve the problems using the following methods Finally: Converting all compo Key presses eg Ctrl+Home to Advanced Command micros inside my X52 profile And Last resort By changing affected functions inside DCS controller page that use key combos, to simple key presses using free keys that simulation does not use. For example I reassigned Ctrl+Home to I key That way I am back alive. DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! DCS AH64D Longbow !
