How Does DCS: Black Shark Transition to FC?

Hi,

 

Once I get a profile made up and get the basics down, how do I transition to Flaming Cliffs?

 

I have LockOn Platinum and both are installed, including Flaming Cliffs.

 

What is the process to fly to Flaming Cliffs?

 

Will my profile here, function seamlessly there or will I have to recreate a profile there to?

 

I have maybe 2 hours total flying a Su-33 in Flaming Cliffs. That is all I know about Flaming Cliffs.

You will need separate control profiles for each simulator, as well as for each plane in the case of FC2 since it has several planes with very different systems on board. (And different control logics for weapons in the case of East-West aircraft.)

 

As for how to "fly to it", if you mean playing on a multiplayer server that runs FC2 while you yourself is flying a Ka-50, all you do is start your DCS:BS into the multiplayer mode and select a server. In this case it doesn't matter which simulator the server is running. (However, if the server is running FC2 and it's mission does not have any flyable Ka-50's, you can of course not fly the Ka-50 in that mission. And the opposite for a server running DCS:BS which does not have anything other than Sharks as flyable vehicles.)

 

EDIT:

Note regarding missions that supports both simulators - if you are flying a Black Shark and want to change to a player slot with an Su-33, you cannot just "go to spectator" and switch. You would then have to disconnect from the server, start Flaming Cliffs 2, and re-connect to that server.
