Tosher Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hey Guys I am looking at getting a new computer here in the next few months( my is a dual core from 2005). I would like to have one geared for games, specifically the A-10. What do you all suggest for specs and requirements. I am looking at being able to put anywhere from $600-1200 toward this project (Hopefully maybe a little more). If you all could list the disk space, ram, memory, graphic card, etc for ultimately a good gaming experience that would be great. I have someone who could make me a computer, but I would like to also find out how off the shelf computers like at Best Buy compare. Especially in regards to upgrading and adding more ram and a better graphic card at a later date. Thanks!!
EtherealN Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 This article might give you some ideas: http://techreport.com/articles.x/21164/4 (It has suggestions for a couple price ranges, I selected one that appeared to be roughly in your range but there are others as well at other price ranges, as well as suggestions for alternatives.) I think that one there is pretty much right on the money, though I would probably select a GTX560Ti as the graphics card rather than that radeon - but that is my bias. (And what I use myself.) Something like that should be able to run pretty much everything on the market and last you two years or more without any problems at all - probably more.
