uryiel777 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 hey everyone. this may be a dumb question, but i cant seem to find an answer anywhere in the forum. after i have gone into the jtac menu and got my 9 line and coordinates and all that, for some reason i cant figure out how to go back to the menu to give instructions to my wingmen to attack ground targets. could someone please direct me to the right place or answer my question? thanks!
nomdeplume Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 If you're using the HOTAS MIC switch, then accessing a different radio should open up the root menu. e.g. if you contact JTAC with the FM radio, use the UHF switch and you should get the root menu. Otherwise, if you hit \ (backslash) I think it'll either go back to the root or close the menu. If the latter, when you open it again I think it should be at the root.
uryiel777 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Ya, that's what I'm talking about. Either I hit esc to close it or f12 or the \ button and I only get the jtac menu. Dont see why it isn't going back to the root menu. Maybe I'll have to make a keystroke for the hotas mike switch to change radios, since I'm not using a hotas joystick. Elwin Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Just open comm menu for different radio, as Nomdeplume suggested. So if you use VHF FM for JTAC comms, open UHF or VHF AM and that should open the base menu.
uryiel777 Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 I got it. I just created some keyboard shortcuts for the hotas radio switch and was able to switch radios. Thanks everyone.
aces_full85 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 If I remember correctly, when your radios are set to easy communication mode you can use the Tab key to cycle from the JTAC dialogue menu to the main radio menu. Can anyone confirm that?
