cichlidfan Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 The Lulu coupon is apparently only good on something you publish, not on the purchase of a book in their list. Bulletstop Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I would pay the price no problem. Bullet I7 4790K running at 4390 with a gigabyte board with 16 gigs of ram with an Asus gtx 660-ti and 2 tb of hard drive space on 2 wd hard drives. A X-65F Hotas with trackir4 and pro combat peddles. A kick butt home built machine unfortunately running a windows 7 OS.
Fleshpiston Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Well as for the both of your guys points, we already have the PDF format and the choice to view it in any PDF reader anyways. Or print it out as well so non issue. All you need to do is connect your Kindle to your PC via USB. Then copy the manual to the documents folder on your kindle and that's it. The Kindle can read PDFs and I must say does a very good job at it. It would be nice to have a dedicated Kindle version but we don't always get what we want ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AEF Flesh | 161 SQN System: 965BE / 5850 Toxic / TrackIR 5 Pro / 120gb Corsair Force 3 GT / 2TB Raid10 / 6GB RAM /TM HOTAS Warthog / G13 / Combat Rudder Pedals..... and lots more
The-Sky Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 The Lulu coupon is apparently only good on something you publish, not on the purchase of a book in their list. I'd pass around my edited copy (Embeded Fonts and Paper Size Change) of the PDF but I'm afraid ED would be against that. Could I get confirmation from someone?

It would be nice to have a .MOBI format file for those that have a Kindle reader app on their smart devices. I actually don't own a kindle reader but rather the IOS app on my Iphone. I'll keep messing with conversion software in the meantime. Or maybe I'll try to re-do the manual in the .MOBI format from scratch assuming its possible. http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

Well I have already formatted it for kindle and it is ready to go but it is 32mb (when .rar) file and I can't attach it here. I can if you need also do it in other formats if needed. I just checked it on my Kindle for PC and it is all correct. We need a way of posting it here. Doing it in 8mb parts = 4 .rars Uploading now. (Can do the same again for the final manual) ;) Also Kindle file format is .prc EDIT: Came up with some error about token summinc or other. Edited September 27, 2011 by Fleshpiston [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AEF Flesh | 161 SQN System: 965BE / 5850 Toxic / TrackIR 5 Pro / 120gb Corsair Force 3 GT / 2TB Raid10 / 6GB RAM /TM HOTAS Warthog / G13 / Combat Rudder Pedals..... and lots more

Evil.Bonsai Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 No vote; I view the pdf on smartphone. Will likely, however, be getting that spankity new Kindle tablet when it comes out.
Caspet Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 HTC Desire S Hi all. Just got myself a new phone, an HTC Desire S. It has adobe pre-installed so I thought I would give downloading the manual a try. Hey Presto... it worked.:clap_2: If I read it in landscape its fine, also crystal clear. No more reading my crappy attempt of a printed manual.! That said, I will still buy the bound manual when it comes out. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee Muhammad Ali-(Cassius Clay) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DarkMellie Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Is there any progress on this? I just love my BS bound manual and would love to add the A10 to it. DCS 161 (Recce) Squadron [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

glazier1333 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 printed my own, 3 volumns I split it up into 3 volumns, (volumn I) pg 1 to 252, then (volumn II) 253 "MFCD" to pg 406 then (volumn III) pg 407 "AIRCRAFT STARTUP PROCEDURE" to the end. I put the cover page on all or them, added the table of content and the supplements to all 3 and had them spiral bound at Staples for under 10 bucks with a clear plastic cover in the front and a black one in the back. Looks very kool and easy to study this way. Ali Fish Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) Bump, whats occuring with a manual then? yeah WTF is happening ? getting mighty sick of waiting for this. I just recieved some TFCED news letter today, without any information on the A10 printed manual which annoyed me somewhat. within that news letter i see a TFCED projection untill summer regards what will be happening, alas no mention of a manual. i wont be buying another TFCED product untill the manuals are out for them. And im not considering BS2, or anything from this group untill i get this a10 manual. yes its that important to me to have this printed manual ! So please stop with the new products and finish the previous ones please. yes i consider a10 incomplete in my collection. i was told this manual would be printed and sold. so WTF is happening ? im not cursed with the gota have the next new thing from ED ethos. but iam cursed with having to complete my a10 experience before i endulge further. i honestly thought that manual would have been completed. so TFCED if you want more from me you know what to do. yes my attitude is born from my disgust at the notion of payware BS2. and pay for integration between sims. and pay more for terrain i and many thought we were gettin anyway, (yes im a beta a10 user and get it free but thats not the point) the old road path for ED was quite different and seriously more appealing(for me) i know there are a great many explanations, its just that there spread far and wide over a great many posts. things used to be simple around here. not so anymore. rant on/ when will DCS a-10 2 rear its ugly head ? presumably after the next DCS,(DCS:NEXT PROJECT) module and after BS3 (basic patch to add workability with DCS:NEXT PROJECT. ohh and after Flipping Heck 4..... its gotten silly guys. or atleast you gotten me all silly. sorry folks. rant off/ Edited December 23, 2011 by Ali Fish [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Antigoon Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) I'll use this topic as my first post then. I certainly would appreciate a printed manual, I just can't seem to read pdf's on my screen without getting a headache...especially 700 pages of material I really need to digest to get anywhere with A10. So +1 from me! And looking at the poll, ED might even make some profit on it. Edited December 23, 2011 by Antigoon
cichlidfan Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 And looking at the poll, ED might even make some profit on it. hopeless Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I would definitely buy a copy. I get distracted far too quickly when I'm on my PC and it would be easier for me to absorb info lying in bed or in a chair. Would it be worth starting another poll asking how much people are willing to pay for a printed manual, colour and/or black and white? Colour with glossy type paper would be lovely..!
