Ok I am currently running vista ultimate 64 bit and want to upgrade to win 7 ultimate.

But here in Denmark the upgrade are very expensive compared to the US version wich is half the price.

So my question is does anybody know if it is possible to upgrade an EU version with a US download upgrade??? :helpsmilie:

Quick question: why Ultimate and have you checked OEM prices?

As for your question, I don't know, but I suspect you can't.

Yeah i guess so, I was just thinking about upgrading so it will leave my files and folders intact. Ive read if I switch to another version than ultimate I have to make a complete reinstallation. But I guess it is worth the extra time to backup everything up.

Then what OEM version should I choose btw I was thinking of changing my motherboard in the progress any ideas? I would like to continue to use my Q9550 just a little bit longer, but at the same time be ready for the next gen cpu´s/gpu´s. advice?

Hm, well, the issue with OEM versions is that they generally lock to the motherboard as far as the license goes, so that might not be the best idea if you're still on a 775.

To be honest, I'd say stick with Vista until you replace the machine, and get 7 Home Premium OEM with the next one. Such a license should land somewhere around ~750 DKK.

Yeah I guess the most optimal solution would be to hang in there just a little bit longer. I just get frustrated in my hunt for more FPS. For now my sytems runs pretty well OC to 3,3 ghz. I just cant bare that vista takes out all the juice.

Thx for the quick responses guys
