Ange(L) Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Eagle Dynamics - Apple (same battle) Hello All :) paid patch that does not have much time or compatibility with the A10 I can not believe ... A patch fee? Since when have we done paid a patch even if it brings some fixes ... Is not a new simulator but just a compatibility and improved graphics. 2 [sIGPIC]http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/7330/banniredreamfly.jpg[/sIGPIC] ------

Prophet Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Like I said. You could have a base simulator and add aircraft on to it like FSX. This would mean though that for the most part the simulation graphics would remain the same. The only work to be done would be the aircraft and weapons. Instead ED have chosen to upgrade the actual engine itself with each module. The pro is that the engine improves the con is the increased work to bring in a new aircraft. This work needs to be paid for. Simple as that. The pro of keeping the engine frozen and just adding aircraft is that less time is needed. We would already probably have the next DCS module if it was done this way. At the end of the day plans change and it is no easy thing to do. Regardless, paying for work done is fine by me, least we have no kick ass developer making sims that we enjoy anymore. Which I already paid for all of that with DCS:A10C. This 'upgrade' is just putting the BS into the A10C, world. Which is what should have been done to begin with. Unless I am missing something, is there something else that has actually been done that I am paying for? From what I can tell on the upgrade list, its everything that is in A10C already. I can see paying for an upgrade to but BS into FC2, that was never intended.

159th_Viper Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 since when a payroll update? Black Shark 2 is sold as a new game: Black Shark 2 is the question I ask myself why else call it that is so is an update? Black Shark 2 is sold as a new SIM to those who do not have BS1. In addition, it's sold as a payware update for those who wish to update to BS2 from BS1 at half the purchase-price of the new SIM. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Inquisitor7 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Does it matter what directory we install the upgrade from? In theory the upgrade should be able to find the Blackshark install no matter what drive or directory its on? BW I am very pleased with the cost for the upgrade and to support Eagle Dynamics for such high quality Sims.
yallu Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 After installing BS2 update over BS1, can I then uninstall BS1? Would like to save my rapidly shrinking SSD space...
159th_Viper Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 After installing BS2 update over BS1, can I then uninstall BS1? Would like to save my rapidly shrinking SSD space... Yes. Just keep in mind that you will lose FC2 compatibility in doing so. Also keep in mind that it does not insall 'over': It is a separate install entirely. Beagle One Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Not interested anymore in buying the same game all over again. I already made that mistake with FC2.0 and I wont do it again. The DCS Idea did die with this I guess.
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 BS2 is installed to a separate directory to BS1, after installation you can delete BS1 if you so wish. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

159th_Viper Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Can i have net compatibility without fancy gfx (which i already bougth with DCS:A10C) for free? No. As announced, BS2 will ensure A-10C compatibility, said compatibility patch for the A-10C (1.1.1.0) to be released hopefully next week, if all goes well. Eldur Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Sorry, just English as this time. Localized versions will be available when translation work is completed. Honestly, I'd prefer the ability to install the English one over my German BS and convert it to English this way. FC2 is English and A-10C, too. Just my BS is not. And I'd love to pay via PayPal, otherwise I'll finally have to obtain a CC :D.

Also keep in mind that it does not insall 'over': It is a separate install entirely. Thanks, I do have FC2 but not installed currently, will I be able to join FC2 servers (with ka-50 v2 or a-10 later) without installing FC2 if I keep Ka-50 v1 installed? edit: typo...

To join FC2 servers you'll need to have BS 1.02 installed, ie BS1 patched to BS1.02. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! Nate--IRL-- Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) The work required for A-10 V1.1.0.9 to 1.1.1.0 is minuscule compared with the work required to get the Ka-50 working in the same world as Warthog. The Features introduced to BS2 compared to BS1 is an accurate assessment of what an Update/Addon is. BTTW-DratsaB Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) I don't play BS anymore so I doubt I'll get this anyway. But, it seems kind of expenive for a couple of upgrades that you already have if you paid for DCS:A10. I think the name BlackShark2 was a mistake too. I'm surprised they didn't wait until Nevada map was finished and include that. That would be worth $20 and would have made the package go down much better with everyone I feel. Still, people got to make a living I guess. PS, can any =one give me a link to some screen shots of the new cockpit, if there are any yet? A sticky might be in order for a little while to state which versions are online compatible together - and which are not even planned to be with possible later patches. For us less frequent visitors, or what do you think? Especially now that new versions are released/being released soon.
