FifthColumnist Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hi all, Not sure whether my system will be able to cope with BS2 (I assume all that eye candy comes at an FPS cost), I run a Q6600 OC'd to 3.0ghz, 8gb ram, 4870 win7-64. BS1.0.2 runs okay and I realise I meet the published minimum system requirements but is there anyone out there with similar specs and can report on how well BS2 performs compared to BS1. TIA S!
Kifter Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hi Fifth, I'm using a similar system spec to you: Q6850 8GB DDR2 ATi 6970 Win Vista My rig is fine for all games apart from DCS Blackshark 2. Blackshark 1 runs fine, Warthog is fine when in the air and flying (a little laggy on the ground). Blackshark 2 however runs like a dog on anything other than the lowest of the low settings. Even at the lowest possible settings with native res (1900x1200) fps is around 30fps but is utterly fugly... At everything maxed (apart from AA which I leave off) you're looking at a slide show of 9fps. I would advise you not to spend your money unless you beef up your system or you'll end up with a game that only runs looking worse than the original Blackshark.

Thats kinda what I expected, sadly I won't be joining the BS2 party for some time. TKS for the info. S!
