Multiplayer: Add possibility to live human control of ground units (replacing AI)

So while other people are flying with the DCS planes and Helos, some people might take over ground AI and fight the war on ground instead (giving objectives to groups on ground). Using the map as GUI. Kinda like combining DCS flight sim and "Close Combat" series together.

Yea, what an amazing idea. Never seen or heard of anything like that before. :doh:

 

 

 

ED had this feature during A-10 beta. It had to be taken out due to contractual conflicts. It "might" return in some future module. Don't get your hopes up, in other words. I'm still quite disappointed over what might have been. I'm not mad at ED really, they apparently did what they had to do. It was just an all-out generally sh*tty situation for all involved.

 

To be honest though, the one thing that did anger me (a bit) at the time was the way ED went about announcing it- or rather, NOT announcing it. We were left to discover the change ourselves. ED seems to follow a policy of not announcing any bad news. I don't think this is a wise policy, I think it breeds more anger and resentment than a policy of being more open about setbacks, but I'm an engineer not a business major. I don't pretend to understand people very well. I know that ED claims to have gotten burned in the past by being too open about things. Apparently, a lot of people do not understand or remember that "we hope" IS NOT EQUAL TO "we will". I noticed a lot of folks saying that "the A-10 patch will be out this week" when in fact, all that was said was "we hope to have the A-10 patch out [this] week". If ED fails to deliver this week for whatever reason, one can expect the whining to begin. Not among any of the more mature community members, but there will be some whining, for sure.

 

But I still think ED would breed less anger and resentment if they were at least a bit more open about certain things sometimes. Anyway, sorry for getting off topic.
