Effects Loading

When the first explosion happens there is a stutter-thats normal. But I'm noticing that if some time passes between explosions, I get the slight delay again. I believe in previous versions, the effect loaded and that was it for the rest of the session-no more stutters. Maybe going to a medium setting would help?
