Hi guys...yesterday i have received my copy of FlamingCliffs.

Two years ago i gave up with lock on 1.02 for hardware problem but i follow the community and seems to me that lock on FC is a step ahead so i decided to buy it.

My questions are (in order to improve the fluidity of the game...forget for a moment the graphic details that i will decrease):

- i have installed Groud Fix e Stuttering net fix. are there other OFFICIAL files to install?

- is still valid to change in the "producer config" the parameter forcefeedback from "True" to "False"??

- is still valid to disable "hardaware sound acceleration" (independently from any kind of sound card) from dxdiag?

- i also move the swap file from C: to D: that is a separate and different hardisk. Is that really helpfull?

i remember that this trick were very helpfull in lock on 1.02.

Than the last question is:

For lock on 1.02 there was a lot of mod (explosion pack, overcast clouds, water explosion, etc etc) are these mod still usable for FC?

Are these mod really helpfull also in FC?

Thanks for any reply

P.S I'm very grateful to support Eagle Dynamics for these job.

I haven't personally seen what the "horrible pitch oscillation" entails - I don't know whether it's a genuine problem or something that's being misinterpreted.

The tendency of the aircraft to pitch up or down when you let go of the stick and the aircraft is untrimmed is a real effect, and I'm wondering whether some people have interpreted their inability to deal with that as a bug in the game.

What, exactly, is this famed "horrible pitch oscillation"?

And about the devs - you have to realise that their time is limited, and they can't afford to check every thread on the forum. And there is a lot of shouting "OMFG bug!11!!!" in situations where there isn't a bug at all . . . .

Anyway, in answer to the original poster . . . hardly any of the FPS mods for v1.02 have been recompiled for v1.1. Not sure why. Lomacfiles and LockonSkins have apparently tested for compatibility (separate download categories), and the old FPS mods aren't included . . . . so I'm assuming they don't work any more :(

However, there has been the usual claims of incremental increases from drivers, magical FPS increases from things apparently unrelated, and at least one driver that has actually had a REAL effect. I think it was ATI's Catalyst 5.7 . . . . redid the way the drivers looked at the overcast, and it had a really quite significant effect.

The only official fixes are the ones in the lockon.ru download section. I don't know of any others, but if you want to verify, then feel free to check it again.

that does not seem to affect anything in a bad way, but it also does not help to remove the horrible pitch oscillation that many folks encounter (me being one of them).

The basic fix for the oscillation is to go into

Options | Input | Select joystick device |

click on Buttons/Axes to Axes | Choose Pitch from list

and then you'd slide the D-ZONE and CURV sliders to the far-left so that you'd get a flat line.

Click OK

Works great for Su-25T.

i'm quite satisfy by the smothness of the game but there is a horrible think:

THE OBJECTS ON THE GROUD POP UP LIKE MUSHROOM!!!!

could you help me??

is there a particular setting to avoid this unrealistic and terrible effects?

thanks

the axis adjustment trick absolutely does not work for me. i have tried just about every combination of adjustments i can...and all the weird fixes folks have come up with as well... i am trying a couple of other things...and will decide tonight if i will ever try to fly this game again.

"horrible pitch oscillation" - do a google on lomac pitch oscillation... you will find quite a few hits.

so to explore the failure to trim... i know how to trim an aircraft - i am a PIT. i understand what you are saying, but letting go of the stick leads the aircraft to bounce opposite, past what should be equilibrium, then back again like a pendulum. it eventually settles but takes too long - 15 seconds or more maybe. if the aircraft is improperly trimmed it will just go in one direction - not bounce back and forth. and trim goes for yaw as well - but that effect is not present in the yaw axis. it is so bad, i can not get a pipper steady on a target even with constant pressure guiding the direction - it just bounces around.

the devs have time - Han answered an e-mail I cc'ed him on about the fiasco with Evolved and the #2 cd in the Gold Pack - twice. for a problem that quite a few have experienced, they should spare time. i know, i am responsible to 3rd tier tech support out of my companies engineering organization. everyone is busy these days and has multiple responsibilities. i know what it means to take care of customers...they will keep coming back as customers. blow them off and you don't get repeat business. i guess it depends upon the business model of the company. they have my one shot of cash already - so maybe it is not biggie any more. that remains to be seen.
