Hotas DMS and MAV Recticle

Hi guys, first post. My question is this: I thought that the DMS forward, aft, left and right directions controlled the MAV reticle but it seems they don't. What I want to know is when MAV is engaged, do DMS directions control anything?

DMS (Data Management Switch) controls, with MAV as SOI, reticle direction, but only on short commands. You cannot "slew" them wit hthat since that activates the Long commands. (See page 87.)

 

There is a separate Slew control under axes. See page 92.
