0utLAW Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I have NOT made this profile yet but wanted to get some feedback on what I was thinking. The items in green are up for debate. Question marks are unassigned. The blue, purple and red items would be changed by the profile selector. Everything else in black would be standard across the different profiles. Please let me know if there is a profile like this already and what suggestions you may have. cichlidfan Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Looks pretty good. These things are a bit individualistic so what works for you is what counts. The only potential problem I see with one of your options is the use of the slider and rotaries. For one, I think the POV hat is a much better choice for trim, you will find it more intuitive to use. Also, the trim controls are momentary switches and I think you will find using them on rotaries will be a problem even if they are nice and smooth. The second is that many X-52s, including the Pro version, have less than ideal performance with those axis controls (the rotaries and slider). My X-52Pro was very jittery when I tried to use them as an axis. Now if you set up bands you may find a use for them. That would probably be the best way to impliment the speed brakes as well since they are also not controlled by an axis in RL. The rest looks like a good starting point. It's definately the kind of thing you will probably make changes to after you use it and see what feels right and what does not. 0utLAW Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Here is the new setup for my X52 Pro. I have included a jpg for reference, a psd file for your editing pleasure, and a pr0 file for use. I hope you like it. A couple of things to note; 1st I have not set the up the toggle buttons for the Trim(i) or Slew(D). I'm having a little trouble figuring this out(Any help on that one would be appreciated). I would like to be able to hold down the i button while using the POV1 control to adjust trim. Same goes for the slew. Press and hold D + POV1. 2nd The look back© button only looks back when the button is pressed. I would also like this to toggle so I can use the POV1 to look around then hit C again to go back to the cockpit view. I tried setting it as Latched in the SST software but that doesn't seem to be how it is done. Couple of more questions. 1. For those that have this controller what information(I assume radio) do you have displayed on your MFD and how do you go about getting it there? 2. How have you, or others, take out the slop from the stick? I know there have been mods with the magnets and the base but I'm talking about where the hand grip meets the rod that goes into the base. Seems to be quite a bit of wiggle there that I would like to get rid of. Thanks and enjoy. 0utLAW X52 Pro Setup.rar i7-8700k 3.70mhz|64GB DDR4 G.SKILL Ripjaw V 3200|ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 8G GDDR6|AsRockZ390 Extreme4|2 Samsung 870QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860 QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860EVO 500GB|Corsair 750D|Corsair H-100i|Corsair AX750|LG 34GN850-B|Acer UT241Y|TM Cougar MFDs| Buddyfox UFC|TM Warthog HOTAS(Modified Spring/Slew Control Stick, Upgraded PCB, Stick Extension)|Saitek Combat Pedals|Corsair Nightsword|Corsair K70|TrackIR5|Custom A-10C Panels|

RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I love these sticks but when I try to allocate speed breaks to the slider it doesnt work. Even with the slider in the middle position. Also I have no success with my stick mode select buttons to make my hats multi purpose capable. Help would be great. 0utLAW Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 So thanks to this thread and TrackIR I now have a new X52 Pro profile; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82773 I'm still working on assigning the toggle switches on the stick base. The landing gear and flaps functions will change. I'm thinking that I want to assign more complex tasks to those toggles. Landing gear and flaps are pretty easy commands. I'm trying not to change any of the In-Game assignments as much as possible and doing all the configing in the SST software. I'm trying to make the profile as close to the actual warthog setup but of course there are some workarounds and modifications. For the most part it's as close as an X52 Pro can get. Also, I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the driver version that allows you to change the color of the POV1 LED? I had one at one time but I think I deleted it. I'm currently running DRIVER version 6.2.2.4 and SST SOFTWARE version 7.0.2.7. This driver version doesn't even show POV1 in the LEDs tab. :( ENJOY! Here is a pic of the profile, the profile itself and the .PSD file I used to make the jpeg. RpSPT Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) I have decided to use mode switch as little as possible, and actually not using it at all currently. The necessary HOTAS Hat directions are mapped into buttons that were not fitting into the X52 Hats. Works well in a way that I dont have to change modes in flight. I wish there was a way to get the mouse stick working as a POV to get smoother slew. My mouse stick works as a zoom view and it is very good in that function. POV 1 is my slew currently. What did you use to make that profile picture? Edit: Gimp seems to be able to open these. Did you make this template yourself? Can I used it? Edited November 28, 2012 by RpSPT

That's why I'm using the Mode Selector switch. I wanted to keep the functions of the throttle and stick on the correct sides. Groooz Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hi i see your profile. So you used speed breaks on bands on slider. Looks nice but .. 1) be have problems to push other butonns 2) if pres some combination whit SB on bands meybe work difrent keys like you want to use.3) when start DCS and slider is not in center DCS be asking you to activate product. Thats my own expirience whit setting SB on slider rotator. They work properly only on buttons ,the same trims. If you want i send you my saitek profile for DCS A10.

Looks nice but .. 1) be have problems to push other butonns 2) if pres some combination whit SB on bands meybe work difrent keys like you want to use. What you have to do to make this work is... slide the speed brake forward or back. Once the brake is in the position you want slide it back to the center to HOLD the current position of the brake. 3) when start DCS and slider is not in center DCS be asking you to activate product. Thats my own expirience whit setting SB on slider rotator. They work properly only on buttons ,the same trims. 0utLAW Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Hi there; thanks for the profile - obviously lots of work gone on here! How do I get this to work within DCS A10-C? Do I need a LUA file? I only found a pr0 file in the download which works with the Saitek program but in game the X52 pro column is blank :( Thanks for your help :) The only thing you need to do is the following; - Make sure you have the Saitek SST(programming) software installed and running. - Place the A-10C.pr0 profile in your C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Saitek SD6 Profiles directory - Right click on the joystick icon(Saitek x52 Pro Flight Control Software) in your system tray and select the A-10C profile. There should now be a green box around the back of the joystick icon indicating your profile is running. -Go fly! Note: You may have to alter a couple of key commands in DCS. Mouse Scroll wheel= Boat/Pinky Switch. Basically the mouse scroll wheel acts as the Boat switch by iteslf and as the Pinky switch when the i button on the throttle is held down. - The key bindings in DCS under HOTAS HOTAS Boat Switch Aft - RAlt + Left (arrow) HOTAS Boat Switch Center - RAlt + Down (arrow) HOTAS Boat Switch Fwd - RAlt + Right (arrow) -The i button on the throttle I have assigned as modifier(Right Ctrl) so you may have to modify the Pinky Switch commands as such in DCS; HOTAS Pinky Switch Aft - RAlt + RCtrl + Left HOTAS Pinky Switch Center - RAlt + RCtrl + Down HOTAS Pinky Switch Fwd - RAlt + RCtrl + Right - The toggle T5 and T6 on the stick I have assigned to the following. You may have to set these up as I dont think I had them assigned at the time I uploaded the original file. Also, I don't have a Right Windows key on my keyboard so I had to make some other key assigments for the auto-startup keys; T5 - Auto Startup T6 - Reset Trimmers And yes double check that there is nothing in the Saitek X52 Pro column in DCS as this could cause conflicts. Also, check your MFD on the throttle to make sure the SHIFT mode is not on under the word MODE in the top left of the MFD. If it is showing, just right click on the joystick icon in your system tray and select clear profile and then re-select your A-10C profile.(Saitek is funny like that sometimes.) I tried to keep as much of the key assignments out of DCS as possible. This way if you need to reinstall or something happens to the game that all your assignments are assigned through the Saitek software. Also doing it this way allows the use of the Mode Selector dial on the stick. :) 1 i7-8700k 3.70mhz|64GB DDR4 G.SKILL Ripjaw V 3200|ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 8G GDDR6|AsRockZ390 Extreme4|2 Samsung 870QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860 QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860EVO 500GB|Corsair 750D|Corsair H-100i|Corsair AX750|LG 34GN850-B|Acer UT241Y|TM Cougar MFDs| Buddyfox UFC|TM Warthog HOTAS(Modified Spring/Slew Control Stick, Upgraded PCB, Stick Extension)|Saitek Combat Pedals|Corsair Nightsword|Corsair K70|TrackIR5|Custom A-10C Panels|
WolfSkyTrain Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Thanks 0utlaw for such a comprehensive reply! I got it working and have adjusted a couple of buttons to suit my requirements (didnt like the slider as airbrakes so chose T5 and T6). Once I am 'baptised' in the full use of the X52 Pro, I will report back with any suggestions or changes I have made; I guess at the end of the day it is all personal choice but this is definitely a great starting block.
