Shaman Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 If your Su-25T looses its tail, when you move camera up close then tail is still on its place! Or maybe it's there all the time, but when you move camera out, the tail is gone. confused? Check out yourself. Screenshots attached. Brit_Radar_Dude Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Isn't there some lizard somewhere that when grabbed by a predator can drop its tail and escape with its life, leaving the puzzled  predator behind with a mere snack rather than the full 3 course meal. It then grows a new tail over the next few weeks. Maybe you need to see if your Su-25T exhibits this same behaviour ? ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....

I have personally experienced this by accident...its pretty creepy. :D
SwingKid Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Are you sure you're not confusing iguanas with geckos? -SK
Guest IguanaKing Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 LOL. Nope, absolutely not, unless geckos grow to be 5' 8" long and weigh 16 pounds like my oldest one does. :D
SwingKid Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I mean about dropping their tails... never seen an iguana do that. That's a huge, muscly tail! Very cool animals, though. -SK
Guest IguanaKing Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I knew what you meant, and, as I said earlier, I have experienced it personally...on accident. ;) Before I learned how to handle them properly, I once grabbed one of my female iguanas by the tail when she was still new and trying to get away from me. She shook violently and snapped off about 4 inches of her tail, which continued to wiggle in my hand even after being detached from her. About 2 inches of the original growth grew back. Just so you know, I'm a bit of a reptile expert, especially with igs...tail drop is one of many natural defense mechanisms an iguana has at its disposal. One of the others, its teeth, has cost me 200+ stitches in various emergency rooms.
