ErichVon Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 (edited) I saw this done early this morning NY time about 4AM. 2 guys were flying 2 different skins, one skin was part of the stock P-51 inventory, one was the Red Tail Users download, but was not the skins Panzertard offered in his server setup? How is this done? Let's say I want to use the "Bare Metal" skin to Bazar>Liveries>P-51D>Bare Metal path. How do I bring up the stock skins (Liveries>P-51D) within the DCS: P-51D game I purchased to use in game in Multiplayer? and in Single Player? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (My earlier thread today in the P-51 forum): ============================ http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88402 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also out of the USERS FILES downloads to HOME: P51D - Skin - DCS: P-51D Mustang (Filter settings) I downloaded "Marie" and think I correctly put it in the: Bazar/Liveries/P-51D folder How do I bring up the "Marie" download to re-skin an aircraft in game? I have been trying to figure this out all day, with no success. Maybe the GUI manual within A-10C or Black Shark will shed some light to this. I have never used the mission editor. -+- (I will ask how to make a skin, later, to the appropriate forum.) Thanks for any help. Edited May 13, 2012 by ErichVon
Grimes Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 You can't customize which skin you use in multiplayer, whatever the aircraft spawns with is what it has. In single player it is easily to customize. For the Marie skin you listed the file has a folder structure showing you where to put it. In this case, "Bazar>Liveries>P-51D>Marie" This is the selected aircraft screen in the mission editor. You select it by clicking on your plane. The payload part of the screen is the darker shade of grey and access by clicking the tab that looks like a bomb, its highlighted in white in the screenshot. You then go to the paint scheme and select from whatever is available. Note that the Marie skin is only available when "USA" is the selected country. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. I actually made my 1st Single Player mission using the "Marie" skin and after one sortie got the Air Medal for one aircraft kill and two ground targets, landed the P-51 intact. I tried to get repaired as I wanted to do another go, but that did not function. I kind of winged it, I am not real sure exactly how I made the mission I just experimented. I will read the GUI manual for the A-10C.
