SackDestroyer Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I'm fairly new at DCS, so this is probably a dumb question, but... When I'm flying a mission and under fire, often times I'll hear a loud 'thunk' against the outside of my chopper. It's distinct from the 'tink tink' of bullets hitting it, and sounds kind of like someone jumping on the hood of a car. At first I thought it was supposed to be missile impacts but I don't seem to suffer much (if any) damage from it. Can anyone tell me what that is? Thanks.
Wichid Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Bullets are hitting you which sounds a bit like smashing metal and machinery. Missiles make a big explosion. Lyndiman AMD Ryzen 3600 / RTX 2070 Super / 32G Ram / Win10 / TrackIR 5 Pro / Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals

Turn off invincibility? :D Yea, the "hit by explosion" sound is probably what you're hearing; I think the problem is that there is only ONE "hit by explosion" sound, and it does not scale in volume proportionally to how badly you were hit. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.
