SgtPappy Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Hello, I'm getting a "missing lua.dll" when I try to launch FC2. I tried creating a shortcut to the "launch.exe" and modifying the "Start In:" Property of the shortcut from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\bin\x86\stable\launcher.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2" and then hitting the shortcut. Everyone on youtube says this works with FC2 and Black Shark, but I still get a "missing dll.lua" notification. Funny thing is, it ran on my old Windows XP setup. That setup, however, had such a terrible graphics card that my frame rate was literally 12 fps. Now I've got a brand new Windows 7, 64 bit, GeForce 560... What gives? Please help, thanks! EDIT: Ok, so I re-installed with Microsoft Service Pack 4 and now I'mnot missing any .dll files. HOWEVER, the command screen pops up for a split second and then is replaced by a white screen with an FC2 logo. Then that disappears and NOTHING happens. Apparently, this pops up in the command window when I launch the "Launcher" shortcut: LOP: true locale: en EN # trying: ././data/scripts/./optionsData.lua # failed: ././data/scripts/./optionsData.lua # trying: ././data/scripts/LOP/optionsData.lua # success: ././data/scripts/LOP/optionsData.lua # trying: ././data/scripts/LOP/options.lua # success: ././data/scripts/LOP/options.lua options data successfully loaded Edited June 2, 2012 by SgtPappy
SgtPappy Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 It didn't work... and I've done it twice. I've made an administrator account, ran it on there... I've done everything and it still does the same old crap. Launches the command window for a split second, starts a blank window labelled "Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2" and then everything just goes away. Please, this is incredibly frustrating, and I don't like wasting my money on a shoddy product.
SgtPappy Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 I got it to work. For some reason, my PS3 controller which I have plugged in for other games didn't allow FC2 to start. Very strange indeed.
