aaron886 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Ugh, here we go with the performance nightmares again. Previous system: Core 2 Duo 3.2GHz 4GB DDR2-800 768MB Nvidia 8800GTX SC WD CB 500GB 7200 RPM With upgrades: *AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz *8GB DDR3-1333 768MB Nvidia 8800GTX SC WD CB 500GB 7200 RPM Previously, with DCS World at moderately low settings, I could generally maintain 30 FPS. Today, I fired up DCS World again and was horrified to see I averaged 15 FPS in bare situations, even with graphics turned lower than before. Performance does not seem tied to activity in the sim. Frame rates were somewhat erratic, but generally centered on ~15 FPS. I tried a fresh install of DCS:W, updated DirectX, and updated Nvidia graphics drivers... all to no avail. Everything in the Nvidia control panel is "application controlled" and I have neither a frame-rate cap nor Vsync enabled. Any ideas?
aaron886 Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Potential solution: did not restart after graphics driver update.
