brettt777 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Okay so I've played other sims for years so I know how to fly. So what all do I need to get DCS going? I downloaded the DCS World .exe and the three bin files and installed them. Then I downloaded and installed the Su-25 video steup file and installed that. But every time I try to load a training mission with the Su-25, I get an error that just says "DCS has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution." Am I missing something? Is there another file I need or do I have to purchase one of the other planes first? I am reallanxious to try this sim. It looks amazing. neroroxxx Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) You need this http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/206863/ unzip it and move the files to the root DCS WORLD folder as it says on the link :-) I would also suggest you buy the warthog though, believe me the experience is just like no other and the training missions that come with it are great to get you started, you just can't go wrong with the Warthog! :-D Edited July 17, 2012 by neroroxxx Nero 27" iMac, 3.4GHz i7 Quad Core, 16GB Ram, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2Gb, Running Bootcamp, Windows 7 Home 64bit, Saitek X-52 Pro
brettt777 Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 I installed the hotfix so now it runs. I thought the included Su-25 was a flyable aircraft. All it does is show videos. neroroxxx Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Yes, you can fly it but the training is only with video, the a-10c has the interactive training, there are some missions built in that are more for training purposes, click on missions then on the select box to the right pick su-25t and then look for the single player missions some are labeled as practic and they have text that shows up thru the missions telling you what keys to press and so on. fraserweller Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Silly Question Sorry guys, this is probably a silly question, do I just copy the sounds folder to the root directory or do I select the files from the sounds folder and just paste them into the root DCS World folder.

I'd do the second option. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
