Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) It says in the Manual, pp. 101 §3 that "The P-51 does not hold sustained side-slip. The aileron control is not sufficient to hold the aircraft in a side-slipping angle [...]". Well, I, at various speeds and configurations, use full rudder, left or right, and then have exactly the contrary - way too much opposite aileron authority! If I use full opposite aileron the opposite wing will go down and I can even perform a full tonneau, with the rudder fully deflected and opposite aleron, like in the attached track (?) So... What do you mean by "aileron control is not sufficient to hold the aircraft in a side-slipping angle " ??? BTW, as a RL glider pilot I do know of many gliders without sufficient aileron authority to sustain a sideslip - the Grob 103 Twin I usually fly is a good example... If I enter a sideslip during final app, and use full rudder deflection, then I will run out of opposite aileron to sideslip in the right track towards the rw.sideslip.trk Edited November 26, 2012 by jcomm Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
