APU External Sound cuts out on startup

Scenerio:

104th Multi server

I was in cockpit of my aircraft, listening to his (human/client) KA startup.

 

On farp while wingman was starting KA50 up, the sound of the APU came on as normal but cut out once he engaged engine start for engine 1. Appeared to go silent until the blades started spinning producing the "whop whop" noise, then you could slowly hear the actual engine itself coming to life. APU sound never returned after starter was engaged.
