--Randy-- Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) I just installed DCS World, DCS Combined Arms and DCS A-10. Combined Arms and A-10 all load up and work fine....but when I go to Multiplayer from DCS World and try to log on with my current username and password I get: INCORRECT SERIAL NUMBER I just saw the FAQ about this problem http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/faq/Multiplayer I tried this but I still says INCORRECT SERIAL NUMBER. I am wondering if it is because I bought the A-10 from STEAM? I downloaded the A-10 Module from DCS and used the Serial Number from Steam and used it when activating the A-10 ......so I am wondering if it because of the Steam Serial Number. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --Randy-- Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 I created a support ticket for this issue and I am getting no support.....from support. Does anyone have any ideas of what to try. I can not use this product that I have paid for and I am getting NO SUPPORT. Thanks for any help.
stretch911 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 same... Original install of dcs a10 was via steam. On Friday, I downloaded dcs-world, then installed the a10 mod and my license was recognized and I've been loving it since. I wanted to check out the other shortcut on my desktop, multiplayer....I log in and get invalid serial number. I then went to check the serials database: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/myserials.php and couldn't log in. I requested password reset via email (twice) and haven't received the email. Some advice would be helpful here. Watching this post with you Randy! stretch911 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 not sure what did it... but...got it to work. I went to steam and cc'd my serial number down. (how do you update it in dsc world? oh well) Then I opened up my steam version of a10. Multiplayer worked there for me and my settings were saved so I connected. also verified my user name. Closed a10, and launched dcs world multiplayer...made sure I was using correct user name, and used one of my common passwords, and I got logged in. saw the 74th etc. Not sure if it was anything I did (even if it was just to post here ;) ) hope it helps. --Randy-- Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 Thanks stretch I will give that a try....since support on this product is non-existent.
EtherealN Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Randy, when you went to the myserials page, were all modules you have installed listed on it? --Randy-- Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 No...the A-10 was not listed. I tried the trick of unbinding everything and then starting DCS and going into Multiplayer...but the A-10 is never added because I always get incorrect serial number.
EtherealN Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Then that is the reason you're getting the error: your A-10C key is currently associated to some other account. Unbinding the other product keys, and then running the same account they were at, will only get those keys re-bound to the same account and does nothing to reallocate the A-10C key that is causing the problem. This has nothing to do with Steam keys per se. This is all about the fact that you did, at some point, run DCS A-10C multiplayer on some other account than the one you are using now. To use A-10C with the account you have now, you need to unbind A-10C from that account. If you do not know which account that is, this is a matter for support. Could you give me your ticket number? Alternatively, can you think of any other accounts you have used in the multiplayer interface previously? Those accounts share database with the website, so you would be able to log in using that account and then unbind A-10C from there. A temporary solution until you have the relevant account details is to uninstall the A-10C module. --Randy-- Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 EthereaIN.....you probably don't remember but you have already done this for me and support has done nothing. If you can do anything else with support I would appreciate it.
EtherealN Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I'll check in on the matter. Found your ticket, and the information in the previous post of mine is important to the case. I have given that information to support.
