SkakaMJ0lk Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Hey guys! I just tried to do an AAR with an F-15 but to no avail. I'm still learning FC3 and the documentation isn't great with regards to AAR comparing with the A-10C, so I might be doing something wrong. Anyway, as soon as I hook up to the tanker I lose control over the aircraft and it starts flying up into the tanker. It then disconnects and I regain control. Now, I've heard rumors that the tanking sequence is scripted, but obviously I'm doing something wrong or something is bugged. Any hints or help? I've included a track of an attempt just to show what happens or maybe someone would like to take control of the AC to test for themselves. BTW, please don't mind the rough flying and the even rougher (obligatory) ending to a failed tanking attempt... :music_whistling: EDIT: I don't know how I missed the "Bugs and problems" forum... lunaticfringe Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 For now, use altitude and roll hold Autopilot when catching the KC in the track straight, or attitude hold when in a turn once stabilized at the proper altitude pre-contact. This will cut your workload in half, leaving you handling only the pedals and throttle to do the work. Once contacted, feet and left hand off, and the autopilot does the rest. It's the adjusting all of the axes at once, or, as it stands now, releasing all three maneuver axes back to zero at the same time that seems to throw the autopilot script into a tizzy.
SkakaMJ0lk Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Thanks for answering! I haven't had a chance to test it but hopefully I now can do "sort of AARs" with this method. An option to do a full manual tanking would be best though...
