How do I activate BS2 from steam BS1?

Hi,

 

I recently reformatted my hard drive and had to reinstall DCS world and all the modules. The other modules have been fine (a-10 and huey) but I'm having problems with black shark. I own BS1 from steam, and bought BS2 upgrade off the website and I don't remember having any trouble with it the last time.

 

However, whenever I enter my serial when prompted when loading a mission, it will not accept my serial, and says it's wrong or mis-typed. Am i missing something, and can anyone give me some assistance? It would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: here's the exact error message:

 

The system requires the correct Serial Number of the application to perform this operation. The Serial Number entered is wrong or mistyped. Enter a valid Serial Number and try again.

You need BS1 installed and ACTIVATED before activate BS2 upgrade.
