Very sad to see them go. :( What a fitting idea to have their last flight take them to the Fulda Gap.

If I can manage to swap shifts I might actually drive down there to see the last four machines depart on friday. It´s a good five hour drive from my place, but it´ll probably be the last chance to see an A-10 in Europe. :(

Yea sad stuff. I loved the A-10s. I watched their FINI flight last week, and was on the ramp to watch them Taxi out one last time today. I know our USAFE commander was an A-10 guy and fought tooth and nail to get them to stay, but not even the influence of a general could convince them otherwise.
