genbrien Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) Because it's facing forward (0 Degrees), and the Actual Gear and Mount are offset to the right. so Naturally you're gonna have more light to the Right..... SMH.. I'm with the OP on this 1. I don't know if it's like that in real life, but the cone of light(CoL) is pointing to the right. I know that the wheel is offset, but it's like the CoL is 5 degrees off. If I want to have the CoL directly on the center line, I have to put like 1/2in left on my saitek rudder. If it's like that in real life fine, but I find it very strange.... Like if your taxxiing on the centerline, only the right of it will be lit:huh: Edited May 31, 2013 by genbrien Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mobo: Asus P8P67 deluxe Monitor: Lg 22'' 1920*1080 CPU: i7 2600k@ 4.8Ghz +Zalman CNPS9900 max Keyboard: Logitech G15 GPU:GTX 980 Strix Mouse: Sidewinder X8 PSU: Corsair TX750w Gaming Devices: Saytek X52, TrackIr5 RAM: Mushkin 2x4gb ddr3 9-9-9-24 @1600mhz Case: 690 SSD: Intel X25m 80gb

ericoh Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 And here we go again, people only play DCS products since they made their forum accounts, logic.....
spn Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Thats not true, i have been registered on the forums since May 2013. I have been playing A10C since about half a year. Is the light still of to the right when you disable NWS? Here are two screen shot of a ramp start. One is before the NWS is engaged and the second is after NWS is engaged. It clearly pulls the light source to the right about 5 degrees of center, pulling the light source to the far right.
strikeeagle Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Well, maybe the change is a correction for an error. To me, if the strut is off center, with the taxi light that isn't in the center of the strut (the light itself is more toward the right side of the lower section of the strut below the damper), the light beam should be of center too. I bet the actual light beam is a lot wider than it is in the game. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Chris

This isn't simulated in DCS but here is an exert from real workd A-10C training docs... Since the A-10’s nosewheel is offset to the right, taxiing with the aircraft centered will not put the nosewheel on the yellow line. A technique is to line up the small square between the APU and right engine fire T-handles with the yellow line. 1 v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
cichlidfan Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 On the subject of whether this has changed since earlier versions... I don't know what version but this shot was taken in July, 2011. It's to bad that you don't have a forward looking view of this to show the light source placement out front of the A-10C.

This isn't simulated in DCS but here is an exert from real workd A-10C training docs... That's wierd I would have thought that it's more about rather having the aircraft centered than the wheels. cichlidfan Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I do see it, I hadn't sat and flipped the two back and forth before. There is definately something odd going on. spn Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 I do see it, I hadn't sat and flipped the two back and forth before. There is definately something odd going on. I made the mistake of accidently posting the issue in the wrong location and can't get the correct people to look at the issue. Maybe you can get someone to look closely at the problem.
SkateZilla Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 if it's centered fine. then you engage NWS, and it offsets. I suggest you Clear your Rudder Axis, Re-Calibrate the Pedals in whatever program (Windows/CH/Saitek whatever), then Re-Insert your Rudder Axis. I get no movement when I Engage NWS. cichlidfan Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I have not had a chance to test it myself but I agree with SkateZilla. Check your axis settings and calibration.
