Phantom_499 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a resource I could go to learn about creating some lua scripts for DCS. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to writing any type of code. Specifically I'd like to learn how to write some scripts for weather, smoke effects, and troop transport for the Huey. Thanks, Phantom_499
Grimes Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 The scripting engine documentation has info on what the game is capable of: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Simulator_Scripting_Engine_Documentation Also generally purpose lua documentation still applies to DCS: http://lua-users.org/wiki/TutorialDirectory http://www.lua.org/manual/5.2/ The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Current Projects: Grayflag Server, Scripting Wiki Useful Links: Mission Scripting Tools MIST-(GitHub) MIST-(Thread) SLMOD, Wiki wishlist, Mission Editing Wiki!, Mission Building Forum
Phantom_499 Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 Thank you for the info. I have to admit my eyes kinda glazed over because about 99.9999% is over my head. :) However I shall take it slow and try to learn some of the basics. Thanks again! Phantom_499
