Trying to install my Black Shark 1.0 on newer pc.

I had previously purchased the original Black Shark, and that worked fine on my older pc, blah blah. Now I'm on a newer pc, and want to re-install it. I see how in my profile and payments I can get at my Serial # / Key. What have you. Now, I've downloaded DCS Black Shark from here - http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_black_shark_2/

Now. When I try and start the install exe that I've downloaded, it keeps saying I need DCS World 1.2.5 loaded. Now, I've got that installed via STEAM. And for some reason, it does not "see" it? I've verified within DCS World (via STEAM start) that its at revision 1.2.5. So, I'm stuck.

 

How do I re-install Black Shark 1.0 download version on my newer pc? I'm not looking to have it hooked up with DCS World. I understand I'd need to upgrade the product to Black Shark 2.0 for that, but I should be able to just do a separate install of Black Shark 1.0 on my new pc right? Or am I shite out of lucky strikes here?

Seems you just downloaded the wrong version. You have downloaded DCS Blackshark 2, which requires DCS World. But afaik the Steam version of DCS World can not use any modules you download from the DCS website (and vice versa). You would have to use the Steam version of DCS Blackshark 2. On the other hand, you could download DCS World directly from the DCS website too. That would then work together with your downloaded version of DCS Blackshark 2.

 

But for all of this, you would need a serial for DCS Blackshark 2. OR you would have to purchase DCS Blackshark 2 Upgrade and install that in conjunction with your originally purchased legacy DCS Blackshark.

 

To install the legacy DCS Blackshark - for using it or for applying the DCS Blackshark 2 Upgrade, just download it from here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/previous_versions/

 

Now I confused you completely, hrm? It is stupid complicated, I know ...

PS: I would strongly advise for switching over to DCS Blackshark 2 as the legacy DCS Blackshark is no longer maintained by E.D.
