Dynaverse Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Where on earth can I find my hardware code? Am I missing something really simple? I can't find it anywhere? Let me know
Kaptn Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 1) Login to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ 2) Click on "Orders" which you will see on the left navigation menu after you are logged in. 3) Click on "Details" which you will see in the column named "Actions" of your purchased module. 4) Your Serial is located just below the download link. Kaptn Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) Ok I went to the starforce website and found some information for you. It has some information on the hardware code. First I will link this: http://www.star-force.com/support/users/deactivate/ Then in a support FAQ I found: 1.4 What is a Hardware Code? I cannot find a Hardware Code. It is a code that contains computer parameters and is used to activate and deactivate an application manually. A Hardware Code is displayed (automatically) in the activation window after a Serial Number is entered. Link to source: http://www.star-force.com/support/users/group2.php#14 Now I know you can't deactivate it in the normal way so I found this link where he explains how he deactivated: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=50105 Here is another good link with lots of information: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Troubleshooting:starforce:5.x#I_cannot_find_my_hardware_code I know it is jumping through hoops but maybe it will work for you. I am also waiting on support so just figured I might as well try and help. EtherealN Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Start > All Programs > Eagle Dynamics > DCS World > Documentation Then select the "quickstart" for whichever module you are seeking to activate. Guidelines on how to retrieve Hardware Code for remote activation is in there. EtherealN Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I don`t get it..the Hardware Code is something StarForce grabs automaticaly..you don`t have to type it in?!?!?!? I am confused You can use a manually retrieved hardware code to activate a computer that is not connected to the internet. You do this through obtaining the hardware code and then using some other, internet-connected, medium towards obtaining an activation. This can be achieved either through e-mail (which goes to ED customer support for manual activation and return), or yourself through the SF website. Detailed information about that is present in the Quickstart Manuals included in your installation. EtherealN Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) I did what was written in the instructions for ACTIVATION window but it does not work. it keeps telling me my CD key is invalid or mistyped. I can't get my hardware code. Checklist: 1) You are 100% sure you are actually entering your CD key? Some people accidently paste in their order number and similar. 2) You are 100% sure that you are entering the serial number for the correct correct product? Note that it will ask for activation on all products that are installed but not yet activated; not only the aircraft you are starting at that time. You can see here: 3) To get your hardware code, simply press "other" in the activation box. If activating A-10C, this can be seen on page 5 through 7 of the quickstart manual, including a screengrab below otherwise: Process is identical for the other modules. However, do note that if it rejects the key itself as erroneous, getting the hardware code will not be of assistance. As is, I am a bit confused about what exactly it is you are trying to achieve. If you have a support ticket registered, please give me the ticket number and I can look in there.
