johnv2pt0 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Oh TARGET...you're such a kidder. I am unable to use the TARGET software because as soon as I interact with the GUI I receive this error. Any ideas on how to make it work? Windows 7 64bit Up to date drivers/firmware Thanks for any help ~ An unhandled exception has occurred. Eurofighter Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I have been getting the same error since recently. TARGET used to work fine and then all of a sudden I got this error when trying to open TARGET. Uninstalled and reinstalled TARGET but still no dice. I have a suspicion that this might have to do with one of the recent Windows updates, namely an update to .NET version 4.51 because I believe that this happened for the first time after I rebooted my PCs right after installing Windows updates. Has anyone been able to fix this error? Anyone else also all of a sudden affected by unhandled exceptions? Any solution to this issue at all?
Eurofighter Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 OK, just for reference and people who might come across this via Google or other searches: I was able to fix this by manually copying "UIAutomationCore.dll" from the Windows system directories to the Thrustmaster TARGET x64 folder. There are actually several UIAutomationCore.dll files in Windows. I just picked the largest file (733KB) and manually copied it over. Now TARGET works again. I still have no idea why this happened all of a sudden though. I definitely did not delete anything from the TARGET folders. The only thing I can think of is that I recently reinstalled FSX and maybe some FSX add-on tampered with the UIAutomationCore.dll and TARGET could maybe no longer find the correct one.
