Hello everyone

Simple problem, expecting a not-so-simple solution.

Starting only about 2 days ago, whenever I try to launch the mission editor in DCS, the loading screen comes up but thats the extent of it. Before this problem, it took around 5 seconds for the editor to load. Now, I've waited up to an hour and it still shows the loading screen.

When I press alt+F4, a little window comes up asking if I want to close DCS, and if I choose to, it closes instantly.

I'm just at a loss right now. I've been very active lately in the mission editor and this issue is making me bored.

Check the me.log in C:\Users\<userName>\Saved Games\DCS\Logs for errors.

Did you install any mods recently?

Alternatively you can delete the mission editor folder from your DCS install and then run a repair.

You could also delete the mission editor files from your saved games folder. Keep in mind though that if you have custom payloads or templates that is where those files are stored.

Thanks for the reply.

Check the me.log in C:\Users\<userName>\Saved Games\DCS\Logs for errors.

Only thing is a crash from yesterday which was unrelated to the editor.

Yes, the enhanced terrain thing, the day before I made this thread. That might be affecting it.

How would I go about doing these?

In your start menu there should be a folder for DCS. By default its Start Menu> Eagle Dynamics> DCS World. Within there is an option to "Repair DCS World". This basically goes through the files and if anything is incorrect, it will download and install the appropriate files to fix it. This means that mods that modify existing game files will be replaced, but if the mod adds an additional file, like a new aircraft livery, it won't be touched.

It will also create a backup of mismatched files where-ever you installed DCS World to. There are folders named "_backup.xyz" which contain the older modified files.
