coolts Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) After the last DCS update and now this one, my multi monitor setup has been reset to defaults again. My custom monitor config file wasn’t touched, but is being ignored. It’s still selected in the main game options, along with my custom resolution and aspect ratio. And yet my Shkval and ABRIS were back on my main monitor only. My control indicator position was reset to default but I edited that back in “ControlsIndicator.lua” My Shkval and ABRIS are set to render on a second monitor. The commented out line, “--render_purpose.GENERAL,” in “ViewportHandling.Lua” was reset but I commented it out again. This stopped in cockpit rendering but still no ABRIS and SHKVAL on 2nd monitor. My custom config, selected In game was still being ignored. It is explicitly selected in “options.lua” I ran “Easy monitor setup” again, and generated a new monitor config, copied my backed up settings, renamed new file to old name and reloaded. It worked. EMC has edited something else. Something I’ve forgotten. Something else was being edited or cached. Any ideas? Another file I’ve not listed? I don’t want to go through this dance on every update. I realise I don't have a standard setup but I’ve not exactly got an exotic setup either, ( 2 x monitors, ABRIS and SHKVAL on 2nd screen with controls indicator). _Dredd Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Just tested mine. Everything for me is working just as it was before the patch. But what i do is i've made a JSGME mod for my multimonitor set up, containing any files that i alter. This lot. C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\ABRIS\ABRIS_init.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\scripts\CDU\indicator\CDU_init.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\EKRAN\Indicator\Ekran_init.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Config\MonitorSetup\Export example.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\scripts\MFCD\indicator\MFCD_init.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\PVI\PVI_init.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\SHKVAL\SHKVAL_init.lua C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\MultiMon Mod\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua I then disable the mod before an update and re-enable it after installing patches. My setup after the latest patch with the mod re-enabled is working exactly the same as before the patch. So it appears ED have not changed anything. Hope this helps. (my fellow bistolian) I have to check out this JSGME. Is this similar to a modman package? coolts Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 It’s done it again! With the last mini patch! Using JSGME, I have my mods packaged. As Mad Tommy, I disable mods, patch and re-enable mods. Everything back on as far as mods go, (texture mods, etc.. and my controls indicator on 2nd monitor tweak), except the damn Abris & Shkval export has broken again. I checked the; ..Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua And as it’s saved by JSGME, it’s restored post patch, (--render_purpose. GENERAL, is commented out). But it’s being ignored. They are being rendered in-pit still. Are there multiple copies of that file? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals
coolts Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 Okay, I've sussed it. After some digging I noticed that in the default monitor setup lua files the abris and Shkval exports are now called LEFT_MFCD and RIGHT_MFCD. When I installed and used easy monitor configurator, it did some clever aliasing of these names which got screwed on the patch update. Once I renamed them back to default its all good again. Phew. You live and learn! Now back to flying. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals
