tyugh42 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Hi, The needle in one of the instrument in the A10 (FC3) was spinning very fast even if the plane was turned off. When I am taking off with full throttle, the reading in the fan speed instrument only go up to 78- 80. It takes a long time to take off with nothing on the plane on other than 80% fuel. My FC1 A10 (fully loaded) was able to take off a lot faster and the fan was reading 100 when it was in full throttle. There was nothing wrong with my joystick as it did the same thing when I used the keyboard to turn on full throttle. Is there a software issue? Anyone experience this problem with A10 in FC3?
mvsgas Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 If I understand correctly, you are talking about the Fan RPM in DCS Warthhog? 80% is about right. High by pass fans only go about that speed. only the Core will be at or close to 100% at max throttle. Ever engine is different, all seems normal in the A-10. Older version (FC1, FC2, etc) did not have a proper engine model. This has been talk about many times in the forums, you should be able to find several threads with the same subject. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
mvsgas Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Quote from Wiki http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Questions Q: FAN RPM % does not exceed 82%. Is something wrong with my throttle? A: No. The engine is designed to operate at optimum performance, which is 82% FAN RPM. Also note, that there is a difference between Core RPM and FAN RPM.
