ShuRugal Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 So, I had a thought the other day. I was playing a mission where i had to communicate with multiple assets on different VHF frequencies, but that meant loosing comms with my AI wingman. Is there any way to get the wingmen to communicate and respond via R-828? In that way, we could have wingmen on the 828 and assets/airfields on the 800 as needed.

The R-828 uses AM which you can't set a frequency for in the mission editor. But you can set a common AM frequency for you and your wingman under "advanced waypoint options"->set command->set frequency. Just make sure you use a freq. that is actually a preset for the R-828 as you can't dial in frequencies by hand. Just tested it .. seems to work fine. :o) 2

ShuRugal Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 Good idea forcing it that way. I'm surprised it doesn't automatically work, though. Since the 828 defaults to channel 1, anyone in a shark should receive something sent out unless they switched channels. I guess the AI is just not coded to monitor the 828 by default?
msalama Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I guess the AI is just not coded to monitor the 828 by default? Seems that way. And it also seems that forcing the VHF 1 frequency on makes it exclusive, meaning you can't use your VHF 2 radio for ATC calls etc. anymore! But this method still has its uses I'm sure :) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
