Pashapookie Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Hey all, new to the forums but been playing DCS A10 for about 9months- Great game but everything you need for it is buggy as hell! Ive spent countless hours getting DCS world, Facetracknori, Icontrol, joystick profiles working, but I suppose its worth it in the end!! I recently brought an X52 pro (which is quite hard at the moment as they sold out everywhere, I am assuming because of DCS taking off!) and literally spent a whole weekend getting it working. With a combination of a lot of forum posts, I finally got it working. I thought I would list all the things I did in case anyone else has similar issues and save them the pain of trawling countless forums! O/S Windows 7 Home edition. Issues encountered - Blue screening, profiles not loading, profiles stopping mid game, joystick axis not centered, MFD on joystick showing random characters and MFD lights flickering 1) make sure you have latest version of .Net 2)Don't use drivers on supplied disk, download them from Saitek 3)Install drivers and software before plugging in joystick, only plug it in when the software asks you. If you didnt do this, or need to start afresh, here is how to uninstall - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84295. I would also recommend this if you have had previous Saiteck devices (I had a Cyborg X) 4)Use a "good" USB port, im not a hardware techie so dont know why but plenty of people seem to have issues with this, me included. Things got drastically better for me when I used a USB on the front of the computer rather than one of the last free ones on the back! Also I believe that there are issues with USB3 ports, not sure what to do here, so you are gonna have to Google it 5)Profiles need to be stored in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\SmartTechnology Profiles" 6)Make sure any profile file-names used are LESS than 15 characters Hope this helps and speeds up your install process with minimum pain, oh and Saitek sort your f**king software out! happy flying!
