Cannot get this working :(

Mapped the modifiers in dcs (joy_btn 32,33,34), checked within saitek software that everything works. Nothing is broken... but I must have missed something to get it properly working together. Any ideas from x55/56 flyers? I really want a world with modifiers! I can only get the switches to do anything if programmed without a modifier. :?

This thing about removing the buttons within saitek software did nothing for me, cannot clear in tray, have a default profile with nothing programmed. Reinstalled drivers, brand new pc x570 motherboard. hotas plugged into blue usb 3 so its not electrical or something like that..

Any ideas? I want to program within DCS.

Is there a way to reset a file in DCS so it doesn't remember the HOTAS? Will that help? I'm out of ideas. any help appreciated.

** update. I erased everything, the madcatz program, the drivers, found the .lua files for the joystick in DCS saved games input folders for all aircraft deleted those. Now all my settings are gone in dcs for all aircraft.. starting over I guess. The mode switch now works sa intended, but the keyboard and joystick in cockpit do not now... what is going on?? I cant even use the esc key. :/

SOLVED***!! Once the stick is icon is cleared in the system tray (allowing the modes to be recognized) this works ... This is the critical step. ONLY assigning M2&M3 as mods NOT M1. Also ensuring all controls you want to be universal in all modes are added (EACH SEPARATELY) with the modifiers. So, ESC for eg. needs to mapped on keyboard then again with m2, then again w m3 and so on. Applies to both stick and keyboard.

What a relief and amazing functionality now!!!

" I have the x56 and use the modes for DCS World. Here's what I do:

Under the controls tab, I first add M2 and S1 as modifiers. I DO NOT create M1.

My "normal" M1 settings (with no modifier) is for flight/engagement.

M2 is for take-off and landing.

S1 is for miscellaneous controls.

When you start playing or when you come back from hitting the ESC key, it automatically starts in the normal position. If you use the M1 mode you would have to turn to it to use it. So if you leave it alone then just assume it's M1.

In order to get to M2 or S1 screen you need to turn to it before inputting the command. For example, you have it set at M2 and then you hit ESC to adjust controls or options or something. When you resume the game, the controls are automatically back to no modifiers. So you will have to twist the mode up or down then back to M2.

IMPORTANT: The mode modifiers actual modifies ALL inputs, including keyboard. You will have to add the command with modifiers. For example, I can't remember where "active pause" is located so let's just assume P. "Active Pause" is important throughout the game so you will go to adjust controls, search for "active pause" click on the keyboard binding, and add the same "P" with the modifier M2. That way it will work throughout the modes. I bind all settings, including stick and throttle axes, to all modes."
