Greetings, Made a mission with performance and high replay value in mind, since i mainly fly VR and SP myself. Difficulty is challenging, but mainly because of enemy units view/visibility setttings. If you encounter bugs or have ideas for improvements or new missions, feel free to comment. This Mission is "dynamic", meaning enemies and allies (CAP or AAA/SAM) can vary, giving an always changing environment with every new start. You start the mission on Kobuletti airfield from your aircraft. You will get 1 of 12 possible missions (see list bellow) randomly at the begining of your sortie. You select your loadout via ground crew, plan waypoints and approaches via F10 map and the provided detailed recon photographs in the mission briefing. You can land at any allied Airfield for rearming and refueling if needed. Returning to your parking position at Kobuletti Airfield ends your sortie. There are 2 allied F-5 on CAP and allied AAA / SAM units at the Georgian - Russian border (in case you get chased home). Enemy AAA/SAM units are spread across the russian territory, best defence is a good flight plan and to stay low and fast on deep strike missions. Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3318251/ February 1992: After months of tension between Russia and Georgia the UN send international forces into the region to observe and hopefully stabilize the situation. Sweden deployed one sqadron of Viggens into the region. Today Russian cruise missles destroyed Senaki Kolkhi airfield and infrastructure on the georgian border and coast. Given the troop formations that were reported, command expects an invasion within the next 24 hours. You are put on high alert to counter any move by the russians and buy time until reinforcement arrive. This is a dynamic mission, you get one of 12 possible missions for your sortie (Convoy attacks, airfield attacks...). Allied and enemy units you face or encounter do vary to some degree, giving a high replay value to this mission. See description for details. Recon photographs (in briefing screen) and voice overs included. Missions included in these mission: Mission 1: Attack the 2 Frigattes heading for Sukhumi, last seen in sector FG Mission 2: Attack the T72 convoy heading southeast to Gali - Sector GH12 Mission 3a: Leopards holding the bridge near Rike are under heavy artillery fire. Attack Artillery_A position west of Saberio - Sector GH32 Mission 3b: Leopards holding the bridge near Rike are under heavy artillery fire. Attack Artillery_B position west of Saberio - Sector GH32 Mission 4: Attack the S-300 SAM site east of Sakhumi-Babushara airfield. Mission 5: Attack S-300 SAM site north of Pitsunda - Sector FH08 Mission 6: Attack the Helicopters stationed at Sukhumi Babushara airport. Mission 7: Attack parked fighter aircraft at the Sukhumi Babushara airport. Mission 8: Attack the parked fighter aircraft at Gudauta airfield. Mission 9: Attack the parked fighter aircraft at Sochi-Adler airfield. Mission 10: Russian armored convoys are about to cross the Enguri river. To protect our outnumbered troops it is vital to destroy last 2 remaining road bridges. Springfield 2 is attacking the bridge between Koki and Zeni. You will destroy the Bridge west of Rike. Sector GH31 Mission 11: We have reports of an large troop transport consisting of T72 tanks and 152mm artillery currently disembarking at Kvemo Merheuli train station. Attack the train station and armored units - FH66 Mission 12: We have a chance to slow the attack by disruptiong important cummunication lines of the enemy. Destroy the radio tower located 7km north of Odishion - FH77 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you enjoy my work, feel free to leave a coin in the bucket! https://paypal.me/dcsdmc?locale.x=de_DE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Important! Targets are marked on F10 map. For more immersion you should be familiar with setting and loading F10 waypoints into the Viggens navigation computer. Mission gives you a wingman, with standard rockets loadout ,but his abilities are limited. Created with DCS Version 2.7 Have fun!

2.7 performance hit with new smoke / effects
ironk79 replied to Gryzor's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I made a similar observation. I fly VR got a setting that gives me 90fps 99% of the time (Samsung Odyssey, 8086k, 2080super, 16gb, SSD). i get massive frame drops (single digits) after droping BK90, even without enemies getting destroyed and after the smoke clears. The stutter stays when looking to the "impact site" (even without craters when using HEAT BK90), looking the other way gives instant 90fps again. I compared to other explosion/crater/smoke effects. Rockets give stutter for a few seconds till the smoke cleared (15ish seconds?), after that i can look to the craters, solid 90fps. RB75, no performance hit at all, can circle above burning units, solid 90fps. -
, At max HOT range, at least with the tested T72, one seems pretty safe even when T72 is facing to you or showing its side. Aproaching from behind you can get a lot closer, Tank is aiming at you, but not firing for some reason. So basically range in the main Key. Although not what i was looking for, but at least something to work with

What a mixed bag...tried to attack from behind, took out one T72, 2nd one sending a missile my way that i was able to dodge, then flanked around the him, waiting in front of him. After a while when he folowed initial route took him out head to head, without him noticing me behind the tree, some 2ish km away. Basically same aproach as my previous ones (side), but without the tanks magically spotting me. Was exactly how it "should" be, I dont know what to make of it...
-
Did my most recent tests from the side, will try approaching from behind and see if it makes a difference

Then it should not be called "AI" , what a shame for a SIM of this level. So only thing to do with anti tank missiles is to hunt GAZ trucks and oil barrels, sounds enticing.

I dont want the trees to be a physical cover, but a visual. Tried little ME mission were i take off behind a tree line a wait behind the trees until Tanks move into a little opening between trees /branches. But sill they could see me even beofe the is a line of sight at the said "opening". AI seems hyper aware and seems to have xray vision. dont know how to approach and if there even is a "chance" for said approach.

quite new to DCS, enjoying helicopters so far. Hve been trying to use the Gazelle in Anti tank missions (SP) with its HOT armament. But no matter how good i try to hide behind trees, f**king AI T72 pick me up from miles away, no chance of creating an ambush or anything, cant see them, still i get their shells while hovering BEHIND trees, tried numerous ways - what is this, i mean, come on!? Is there a way to get AI to a more, lets say realistic and "human" level??? If not the gazelle is pretty much useless in this role - and i could have saved my money.

I am quite "new" to DCS, after flying in the old Lock on days i returned just a few weeks ago. I am flying only VR, my setup 8086k @5Ghz, 16Gb 3200, SSD, 2080 Super, Oculus Rift. I always aim for 90fps, i dont like ghosting and artifacts. What i found so far, missions with AI activity often induce stutter/smearing mostly due to high CPU usage. So my "solution" so far is to use the mission editor and create "CPU friendly" dynamic missions with only a dozen AI units. Works for me since i only fly choppers. BUT! even then, flying in a mission on caucasus map, ambushing a T55 convoy sonsisting of 5 vehicles, as soon as projectiles are flying, stutter apears most of the time. Hell, i even had a mission on Nevada map (Cpu friendliest), with just a few AI driving down a road, when suddelny a stutterfest occurs. Didnt even see AI because i was away a good distance - turns out AI cant cross bridge, which leads to some sort of rouge calculation and high CPU demand. Long story short, i think the main problem is the high amount of calculation from time to time, may it be projectiles, or faulty AI behavior, even in mission with just a few AI active.

Maybe i am a bit dense, but I cant get Beta to work. Am i missing something? Had no problem with stable version, got messages at start and could activate features. But not with open Beta. Copied folder into DCS, start the game and nothing, no switching, menu, whats so ever. Running Version 2.5.5.41371

The link you posted is some shader you can use to get 2D games in VR mode. But that doesnt help with the color saturation issue i have. As far as i can tell, Reshade only applies to monitors, not the HMD that are attached to a PC.
-
I think ReShade doesnt work with VR as far as i know.

Hello, i am searching for a way/tweak/mod to adjust DCS color saturation. I use Oculus Rift, unfortunatly there are no adjustments like on monitor. Because of the OLED display, colors are a bit oversaturated. For IL2 i found a way through a mod to adjust saturation for my liking, with DCS however, i am searching for weeks now, without success. any ideas and sugestions are welcome Cheers!

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
ironk79 replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
no sir, steam VR is a performance pig and it induces a lot of stutter - im using "open composite" and Oculus Tray Tool (OTT), PD of 1,3 (it overrides any setting in DCS) in OTT = SS of 1744x2064, thats about the optimum for me for the Oculus Rift, more SS doesnt make any more difference visually, but hits performance
