  1. Nothing really changed for any good. But obviously i'm not the only one with this problem. To get a better explanation of what matters me, go to https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/190757-1080ti-s-odyssey-shimmeringjagged-mess/page/1/ I hope he does a better job than me in explaining . To sum it up again: What I can see through the lenses of my g2 is verry aliased. The more distant objects are, the more messy they are. Everything is more aliased than it was before switching with my g2 to my new rig. It seems like this oddity is restricted to vr only, cos i get a brilliant smooth picture on my 4k flat screen monitor with everything maxed in DCS. So my rtx 3090 is doing well i think. Today I rented another g2 to check for any hardware issues with my owned one. I want to eliminate everything as far as i can to find out what is wrong for me. I will keep you updated. Cheers...
  2. @trigen I'm glad to find another one with this behavior. Things are for me like you described here. Had crisp visuals in vr before and now things somehow changed badly since switching to a newer rig. I have to dial in extreme resolution settings to only reduce jaggy edges a bit. But it still looks bad in comparison to what i experienced before. Generally the more distant objects are, the more jagged and messy they are. I blamed my new hardware setup but obviously its not to blame. Good to know cos i am on a 5900X with rtx 3090 and a reverb g2. Are there any news on this so far? best regards ....
  3. Of course you are right. And for shure I was not planning to use these settings for regular playing. I was just wondering about why i can't get the image clarity of the G2 connected to my intel chip. There the G2s visuals were crisp and clear out of the box on a lower resolution. So for me and my limited knowledge of vr it was an amd related issue after reading about the connectivity issues with the old cable. Sorry dude if my writing is somewhat complicated. I really try my best to get in touch with all of you and your experience Thanks for helping me out.
  4. Thanks. I will give it a try. So u think my software settings are to blame?
  5. Sorry if my english is off, dude. Is it possible that the old cable of the G2 is causing my proplems? I mean the bad signal Quality due to my AMD based System? I never had this bad Image with my Intel rig. There it was crisp and clear. I hope it helps.
  6. Dear pilots. I am a DCS Rookie from Germany and I am pleased to be writing my first lines in this beautifull forum. Even if my words adress a well known problem. This problem is certainly not limited to DCS, but DCS in VR was an integral part of my decision to upgrade my PC from an Intel to an AMD powered one (besides gaming i do creative work like music production, 3d modeling and cad also). The cpu of my old Intel system was an I7 7820K on an Asus Prime X299 Deluxe motherboard together with an Asus Rog RTX 3090 OC. I was totally overwhelmed by the image quality of my new Reverb G2 which in fact is my first VR Headset ever. It was always razor-sharp and the colors vivid. Unfortunately, by the time I was putting the new system together, I didn't know anything about the problems of the G2 and AMD systems. And ... well, here I am After many unsuccessful attempts to put the Reverb G2 into operation, I have now found a USB port which is capable of operating the G2. But compared to the image quality i got with the Intel system, it is visibly worse with the AMD system. I get jagged edges and shimmering (imagine some small raindrops on a window), kind of washed-out or blurry textures as well as text, the screen door effect is noticeable, albeit softly. In general I get simply everything that wasn't there before, although I am using the settings from the Intel system. Remember that i do compare the image quality, only. Of course with everything up to date so far. Not FPS is what matters at the moment. My actual Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9500X Mobo: Crosshair VIII Dark Hero Wifi GPU: Asus Rog RTX 3090 OC RAM: 32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600 WMR ist set for perfect visuals at 90Hz. SteamVR global SS is set to 150% and SteamVR per app SS is set to 60% for DCS. DCS PD is set to 1.5, i am using MSAA x4 and I am using the medium quality settings also. Despite all of this the 3D World in DCS (outside the cockpit in sepcial) is a war of pixels, not of planes. I guess not my overall Hardware is what is to blame. As a last option - and due to the fact i ordered the G2 two month ago - today I ordered the modified cable through HP customer service, as I have read about the bad signal of the old cable in relation to AMD systems. So I think a bad signal due to the old cable is causing my problems and i just wanna know your thoughts about that. Do you think the new cable will bring back my old visuals again? Thanks in Advance and stay healthy, Guys. Greetings from Germany, Timo
