Not really a dumb question, I have been enjoying DCS world for nearly 5yrs now. Yes, of course I am selecting player in mission editor mode. What is odd is it also doesnt allow me to control the aircraft in instant action or campaign mode. I used the auto-update feature, I shouldnt have to uninstall everything, gawd.

Hey poeple... uhm... look I updated DCS World this evening and then went back to play it later. Now I cannot control any aircraft whether it be in instant action mode, mission editor flights, or campaign. I cant even get into the cockpit, the AI asserts itself completely and assumes I just want to watch the action. Anyone else have this issue ?

The current issues Im having: my x52pro slider does not engage speed brakes and Im flying over targets when landing with no visability, my ILS is giving me accurate left and right on the gimbal but not altitude direction, so I cant get on the glide path I have a really good card, the Asus Matrix 7970... I want the maximum performance settings for the game but am having trouble finding out exactly what that means. Such as vsync... whether to do 8x etc etc... if someone could post a screen shot of completely maxed out settings I would like to set mine up the same.

Omg, this game is so complicated and confusing that its not even entertainment. Its like Im taking an online college course or something.

Sometimes when I contact JTAC they give me grids to a target that is as much as 400 miles away... I realize that this is because some of the grids on the map are overlaping or whatever... but I do not know how to correct this. I am really having an issue with a CAS mission in campaign mode which takes place at night time because of this. Anyone know how to correct this ? Why hasnt a patch been issued for this ?

Is there no way to do it with mouse and keyboard ??? Im using a logitech joystick... nothing fancy

Ive looked and looked but cannot figure out what keyboard commands enable FLIR on the TGP... Im as blind as a bat.. .plz help.

Hey... Can someone take pity on me and explain how when in mission editor to designate a JTAC ? The aircraft that I get enemy target coordinates from ? Also.. is it possible to designate vehicles as JTAC ? For example... Bradleys ride out several miles in advance of a formation and I contact them for any found positions ?

Im using "easy communications" setting... And I still have no idea what HOTAS really means.. Im using a cheaper logitec joystick... so the tpg by default isnt in FLIR mode ? sometimes if I boot it up too fast I get a FLIR hot message and then i see the picture..

Im trying to fly missions at night but I cant see squat through the TPG. Its not clouds or anything like that, its just DARK. Viewing through the MAV is a bit better but Im right on top of targets by the time I can make them out. How do you get the TGP in FLIR mode... and also what is the default keyboard command for the night vision goggles... ?? One more thing.. I enjoy the campaign missions alot but at the end of the mission I more often than not want to re-arm and take out as many of those tanks and SAM's that just tried to pee in my cheerios yet I get no radio contact from ground crew when I return to base... what gives ?:pilotfly: By the way.. I get made fun of ALOT for playing this simulator but Just to make everyone else feel better I met my current girlfriend by playing this game (girls play this game too, and they tend to be the emo/geeky sort that I love)

The stated max altitude above sea level of the A10 is supposed to be 45,000 feet yet no matter what I do I cannot get much above 30,000. I have tried running completely clean and with very little fuel (like 5 percent) and still cant make it that high. Now I know I probably just have too much time on my hands, but can someone help me out here ? I either end up stalling (even at a minimum rate of climb), or having dual engine failure ( I assume because of the tempature at altitude)... "The sold intention is learning to fly, condition grounded but determined to try, cant keep my eyes from the circling skies...."

So when I make my missions in mission editor I just need to put a brad or a tank within close proximity to my intended airfield to make it respond ?

I cannot seem to get the ground crew to respond to my refuel or rearm requests when Im on the tarmac. Im using "easy communications" option. They simply dont reply. When I am airborne I have no issues contacting the towers. Also, This is probably stupid but could someone please explain to me step by step what the 9 line is when I talk to JTAC... and what is the 15 min, 30 min check in option all about when I initiate comms with them ? If any from DCS is reading this, I would recommend adding a training video for how to take directions from JTAC.

I know this is probably obvious but I cannot figure it out... where is the lever or button for the air speed brake ? Also... when I instruct my wingman to attack ground targets or engage air defenses or do anything else for that matter he does not reply over the radio and simply follows me around. I also cannot get in contact with AWACS or and landing strip. HELP !:helpsmilie:
