Aapje, thanks. I did figure it out and I don't see the blue circle anymore. I think it was disabling it altogether. AhSoul, thank you. I'll check out those programs. Yes, I think starting from the beginning and then changing settings slowly and trying third-party apps until I get the image and playability to acceptable limits is the way to go. Day 2: I was able to get smooth gameplay, and the image is now a lot better than my first Valve Index I had three years back. I want to start pursuing better images for my gauges and everything else. In particular, the MFD letters are still difficult to see, but everything else seems better. New Problem and Workaround: Meta Quest App no longer works with DCS. Here's the sequence of events: Day 1: Loaded Meta Quest Application on my computer, set as default OpenXR, linked Quest 3 after setup and initialization. Day 2: Loaded SteamVR and played "The Lab." Then proceeded to DCS, clicked Launch, and after 15 seconds, the DCS Launcher (first screen) came back up. Troubleshooting: Restarted computer, reset OpenXR as default in Meta Quest 3 app, but nothing fully launched DCS. Workaround: Inside SteamVR, set OpenXR to default for Steam, kept Meta Quest 3 app on, linked Quest 3 VR, and started DCS. It worked! I also tried to reverse that and set Meta Quest 3 app back to default for OpenXR, still did not work. Is this a known problem? How is everyone else launching DCS in VR?

CybrSlydr, Thanks for responding. I would assume that you are experiencing smooth game play with acceptable graphics. I was thinking that I would start with the basic settings and then start tweaking. I also gather from your post I should be running Oculus Debug app. Further research has me looking at my parked CPUs. I am playing around with ParkControl app.

Hello DCS Friends, I have played flight sims for a long time. I have been away from DCS for about 2-3 years. I had Valve Index but sold that a while back. DCS was ok with that but didn't keep me playing it in VR. Maybe I didn't have the right settings. I received my Quest 3 last night and consumed as much information as I could via reading and videos. I might be on overload ATM because I have learned so much, but I feel like there could be conflicting information. Not only that but tech moves so fast that I may be doing stuff that is outdated. Is there a sticky page in the forum for Meta Quest 3 that is kept updated? Is there a website specific to the setup and use of Quest 3 that is dedicated for DCS and updated? My rig: VR: Meta Quest 3 CPU: Core i9-14900k Memory: 64GB GPU: RTX 4080 Super My experience in last night's foray was dismal and worse than when I had my first VR. I had major stutter, gauges were horrible, etc. The immediate questions I have so far: 1. Is there a dedicated site, forum post, or what is the most current video that I should watch to get started? I am going to reverse all my settings in NVidia and DCS and start over. From my understanding, people are having success with the Quest 3. 2. Do I need to be using DCS Beta or is my current most updated DCS sufficient? My guess is 2.9 is good to go. 3. When I sat in my chair I saw a blue ring constantly around my chair. Distracting. I am sure that is me and a setting I did. 4. Also, if I turn my head, I could see my room come into focus. Again, I am sure I am my own worst enemy and clicked a setting that caused that. lol 5. There seems to be so many 3rd party tools, BUT from my understanding some should not be used anymore. I have the Meta Quest 3 app. What other tools is current and that I should be using? I am willing to do the work and research, but I am getting frustrated with conflicting information. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Thank you for the responses. I did read the thread from @Flappie . Now I know I am not alone on that observation. It is funny that I dodge all four missiles and then flip around and take out the first four. :) The A10 mission is one that I will need a live player to shake the Migs while I deliver some CBUs.

Hello Friends, I selected "Create Fast Mission" for the F-16. The mission created 8 F-16s plus mine and 8 Su-27s. The 27s targeted me with four missiles while the 16s flew underneath them. I flew the mission again and turned off my radar. Same thing. The 27s are only interested in me. I also radioed Flight to engage bandits. They do nothing. I also created a fast mission for A10c II. My job was to drop some bombs but I can't seem to complete it because the Migs only target me. I edited the mission and setup 4 F-16s for CAP to protect me. Useless. The Migs fly right to me and send me a present. I looked around the forums but my search was not adequate. Am I doing something wrong or is this how the DCS works? Thank you, Stan

FIXED: I did a search on snapview and found C:\Users\stan\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua. I deleted the file and back to normal. Jabbers_ you pointed me in the right direction. Thank you. Stan

Thank you Jabbers_, I tried deleting the file and that did not work. I do believe it does have something to do with snap views. I am thinking deleting / uninstalling F-16 and re-installing. Really strange. Thanks again for the suggestion. Stan

I don't know what I did but I can no longer center my TrackIr to the center of my HUD. I tried a DCS repair. No luck. I jumped in the A-10, F-15 and no issues there. The planes start out centered and my center switch works in both mods. When I start a quick mission in F-16, the view has me looking off to the upper right. I can trick TrackIr by looking further to the upper right, hit F12 for center then relax my head back to center position and the view straightens out but that is not really how this used to work. :) Should I blow away my config files? Uninstall F-16? Has this happened to anyone? Appreciate the help, Stanomatic

TacView Not Recording TACVIEW does not work for me. With the latest 1.5.5 and DCS 2.+ I have not been able to record to TacView. 1. I have upgraded to 1.5.2. 2. I have followed the thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2940956&postcount=309. 3. Updated my TacviewExportDCS.lua 4. Ensured Export.lua and serverSettings.lua are updated correctly. 5. DCS.log I found <<00049.550 ALERT EDCORE: Can't execute Lua file C:\Users\stan\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua - [string "C:\Users\stan\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua"]:1018: attempt to call field '?' I am eagerly waiting for the next patch to fix the key bindings. Anxious to fly the M-2000c but waiting for a little bit more polished release. I will fly my other 10 aircraft until then. J

The "Voltmeter AC, AC Phase" Key LShft R is incorrect. This is for debugging and will restart the Instant Action. The work around is to simply re-map. I think I re-mapped it to "LCTR, LShft, LAlt R".

UPDATE: I don't know who else is having this issue. I cleared every single key binding conflict. I exited DCS and then returned and I still have the red lines. The next step was assigning a key to each one of the keys highlighted in red. I exited and returned and I still have the original keys with duplicate in red. I was thinking no problem they might work anyway. I tested by pressing "G" and the key bindings jumped to Landing gear as it should. Pressing any of the other original binding issues does not work. Example "F" for flaps.

Thank you for the tip. I have not been back in it yet but I am starting with a new profile or key mapping. So, when I change the offending keys I will restart DCS.

Default Key Mapping Special Modes Deselect and Weapon Change I searched the forum and I didn't find this issue but if it was reported then my apologies. Default Key Mapping "Special Modes Deselect" and "Weapon Change" are both assigned to "D". I changed "Special Modes Deselect" to another key but then inside of DCS | Options | key mapping my "Weapon Change" row went all Red. I jumped into Instant Action Dog fight and was unable to figure out how to get guns going. I have to admit I have not RTFM yet. :) So, I will go read the manual and delete my keyboard mappings in the C:\Users\name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\M-2000C\keyboard start over to see if I have the same behavior.

I was in the Options | Controls key setup for about two hours and DCS became real sluggish. I thought it froze, just took a long time for my mouse clicks to respond. I didn't look at the memory at the time. I fired DCS up again and when into Controls and watched the memory climb slowly. Version 1.5.1.4702 Looks like the problem is found while flying, encyclopedia, and Options | Controls page from what I have gathered reading through this thread.

I realized I was not on the latest patch. The updater would not update. I then Opened a CMD in Administrator Mode and navigated to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\. Now type in command windows <<DCS_updater.exe update openbeta>> without the brackets. I was updated to Version 1.5.1.47025. I STILL HUNG ON "Cleaning up" stage and closed via Task Manager. Stan

Hello, Installed for the first time today Open Beta 1.5. I then opened DCS without updating, selected modules and installed all modules I had available. Looks like by installing the modules I was updated to Version 1.5.0.45208 as this is what reads in the corner of the UI. When looking at the dcs.log and the lines that had errors I find: Mixed Uri slashes. Both forward and backward slashes. I did check the directory and I do have the optionsLogin.lua as well as the other files that threw an error. 00008.713 UNKNOWN ?: ERROR: safeDoFile() file not found! can't open 'C:\Users\Stan\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\MissionEditor/optionsLogin.lua' Similar Thread Stan MyLogs.rar

Hi Auger73, yes throttle is max when starting. I noticed with no weapons I can take off better than with a full load. I did try starting in the air and it does fly a bit better. I am confused about the training. The one with the "Vertical Takeoff Demonstration". Am I supposed to just watch or participate? I let it go on its own and it never lifted off. The helo drove through the field. I get how on most of the trainings are interactive but nothing was responding while in this training. So, if I was supposed to just watch then not even the training could take off as a demonstration. If I was supposed to interact then why were my Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog not working and key presses? There are so many weird things going on.

I took off with out clicking on the AP lights. I took off very slowly with lots of Trim adjustments. I guess I just need more time with it.

I turned on all three green dots in Auto Pilot (AP) panel. I took off flew around and landed. I think I will play around with them on and off. :) At the moment, with AP off I crash immediately. lol. Thank you again for the help. Stanomatic
