  1. Hi Socket7, So I landed in the wrong place. thanks for the tips. Will continue trying. Am not going to try updated version until at the utmost desperation.
  2. Okay. I just created a mission and everything works fine. But the training mission for the Ka50 with wingmen and target hand off non of the in flight coms work. You cannot talk to the towers and you cannot talk to your flight. Regards,
  3. Hi all, So I ran another mission and all of the coms worked fine, including the switching from ground crew to air. I will try the training mission again. It is still odd that the ATC didn't work, because I was dialing in the correct frequencies according to the documentation. Could be a mission specific issue.
  4. Hi Sokol1_br, Thanks for responding. I did read your other thread and I am following your instructions. However, even when I use the SPU-9 PTT I am not able to communicate with my wingmen or ATC. That is why I created a new thread. Easy communication is disabled and I am never using the "\" key. "RAlt+\" is already mapped to the SPU-9. I always use this, so i will leave "\" as it is because I am not used to using this. I am not sure how to add this information to the kneeboard. Can you point me in the correct direction?
  5. I have noticed in the KA-50, the Mi8 and the Huey that setting the global "unlimited Ammo" setting in the options has an erratic effect. Some missions I have unlimited ammo (Ka50 target practice) instant mission, for example. I can shoot all of my missiles and then it acts like I am out. I then switch to a different weapon and then back and *sometimes* I have a full load out again). It is funny because for the Mi8 target practice mission the instructor recommends setting the global setting to unlimted. So I do that and I run out of everything no matter what I do. So I end up flying back to reload, etc. So I have just turned if off now and just assume that I will have to spend a lot of "training" time practicing landing and rearming (which isn't a bad thing).
  6. Hi all, I am also having many problems with the radio communications with the latest version. I have tried all of the things below with Easy Communication DISABLED. I see no change to the behaviour of the sim regardless of mode. I am always using (having read the other threads) the "RAlt+\" to toggle the SPU-9 PTT. (Note, I have noticed that in many of the threads it is mentioned as "RCtrl+\". I have no such option mapped and I am using the defaults.) I am trying to perform the wingman training for targets, etc. If I dial in 127.5 on the 800 and the "RAlt+\" I am unable to communicate with my flight or any individual wingman. If I dial in other frequencies (say Batumi or Koubleti (sp?)) all well within range of the 800 - I can elicit no response from ATC. I can abondon the training and fly to either airfield, hover 100 meters from the tower at either and still elicit no response from ATC - so I am pretty sure I meet the range and line of sight criteria) The odd thing is that if I set the 800 back to 127.5, and I designate a target and store it - it appears that I can send the information to any of my wingmen as the lights go off indicating a successful transfer of data. But I cannot then issue any commands to them to attack a target, change formation, etc. I have followed all of the instructions, as best I understand them, in the other radio threads - but I must be missing something because others are reporting the "RAlt+\" is working to allow them to communicate. I am having similar issues in the Mi8 as well. If kind soul notices a missing step in any of the above, please let me know because I would like to get this sorted.
  7. Wow. What a challenging mission! So I am part way and have just arrived at/near the first SOR. At least I believe I have as I have flown back and forth from different headings and watched for the needle to jump. I've noticed the needle doesn't completely reverse itself, but usually swings about 90 degrees of the track, first one way and then the other. So I picked a place to land - but nothing happens. So I am either in the wrong spot, or too far way. But I am not sure what the next steps should be to refine the rescue point. Anyone have any suggestions along this line?
  8. Never mind. I found one here:http://ariescon.com/NavigationalAids.pdf
  9. See second post - I found one. I thought I had found a link to one but the link was dead. Is there a master list of all such stations valid for ADF-type activities for any aircraft? Thanks,
  10. RESOLVED - PEBCAK on my end. (Problems Exists Between Chair And Keyboard) Okay. I have tried to follow the directions, but I am misunderstanding something. When I first opened this path: "...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\" (before I copied or installed anything). Inside of this textures folder is a zip file called "Mi8MTV-STND-TEXTURES.zip" This zip file is there from the beginning. So I then tried each of the following, non of which have worked: 1) I copied the 18 files and placed them into the directory along with the "Mi8MTV-STND-TEXTURES.zip" file. That didn't work so I then: 2) created a folder with the same name as the zip file "Mi8MTV-STND-TEXTURES" and then I copied the 18 files into this new folder. This does not work either. Going back yet again to the install instructions for the mod. Open the zip file (I already have, that is how I am reading the txt file with the installation instructions). Move the "Mods" folder into the DCS World folder. Okay. I riight-click on the "Mods" folder in the same directory that I am reading the txt file in. I select "Copy". I then go to the DCSWorld folder and right-click and select "Paste". Windows informs me that there is already a directory named "Mods", do I want to replace any files with the same names. I select "Yes". This last one did it. I must have missed something the first time b/c I would have sworn I did this the first time before I went on to try the alternatives. Anyway, I looks great! Thanks for making it!
  11. Hi all, I cannot seem to get this to work. I downloaded the most recent version. I have unzipped and copied all of the files into the Mod directory in DCS world. I still see the original cockpit text. I opens both of the folders all the way down and re-copied the files for the Mod into the correct directory, confirming the copy and replace each time. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
  12. I thought I had them in the correct place for the Huey, but when I fire up the sim the missions are not listed.
  13. I know I saw it mentioned in a video, but I can't recall which one. How do you remove the pilot model for the seat you are occupying so your view isn't obscured by the body of the pilot in the seat? Also. I have been trying to use the LAlt+Y and LCtrl+Y to set the text box that I have noticed in some videos. I cannot get these to come up. Is it a settings thing to disable them? Regards,
  14. One additional question. Are the sales available on the main site, or on steam, or both. I ask because I will never willingly use Steam again. I have never had anything but problems with it with the few games I purchase that way.
  15. I completely agree. I have many 10s of hours in BS1. I kind of like the non-gunship missions I have watched with the other helos as well. I will keep a watch out for a sale.
