  1. @battguano Building a simpit always requires some attention. However Helios and LEAVU are quite easy to install. You have to create profile for Helios, if you want to know more about this just read manual. When you finish the profile you can play right away. Of course you have to create certain hardware setup. Anyway time is needed, if you are in a hurry it may not be the best idea to start building now. I spent over 4 months on reading this forum and SCSimulations forum before I decided what kind of hardware setup I would use. Eg with DCS A-10 you have to display MFD and game on the same machine - you can't send them over net. LEAVU is great for F-15C in FC2 but not for russian jets. That is why I started learning Java with help form Joda I try to make LEAVU work with russian jets - and that requires time.
  2. +1 on that , yes you are 100% right, I should have stated that in my post.
  3. @battguano In fact I think that your PCs are more powerful than mine. The "Green Devil" one looks mighty but is based on Phenom II 940BE, 8Gb RAM, 2x GF 260GTX in SLI on Asus M2n32 SLI Deluxe mainboard. 2nd PC is Athlon 6400BE 4Gb RAM and 2 x 8800 GTS in SLI on same motherboard as above. Game runs on 1st PC, standard version, however you can apply mods to hide instruments that you have displayed in simpit so only HUD is left. Second PC runs Helios and LEAVU both freeware. This software reads data from game PC. Cockpit is done thanks to Helios and LEAVU. So what you have to do is just to download them, create profile and presets and that is all. However LEAVU supports F-15C now.
  4. Thanks for the comments. As for F-15C profile here is the picture: Instruments are from Helios and MFDs from LEAVU+ERI 2.1. I run two instances of LEAVU simultaneously. One on main PC for two MFDs, second on networked PC for another two MFDs and ADI with frames and buttons made in Helios And there you have close up on the simpit. I just cut Saitek Switch Panel and used switches with Leo Bodnar's BU. On the right side there are two Saitek Throttle Quadrants also ripped of electronics and connected to some adaptation of MJoy. The rest of switches are connected to Leo Bodnar's controller and to MJoys. For rudder I use Saitek Rudder Pedals. @Migo - yes I use 6 monitors just for pit instruments display. (Two of them connected to PC with game (DSC, FC2. FSX) and four connected to second networked PC.
  5. HI all. I browsed this forum for some time, then started to build my simpit. Of course it is not finished yet (I think it never be). I found few pictures taken by my son when I was flying at home so there it is. My simpit here in A-10C configuration: Another picture with zoomed in cabin: This simpit is an multipurpose one. Above is in DCS A-10C configuration (Helios + Easy Monitor Configurator), but I have profiles for Flaming Cliffs2 F-15C (Helios + LEAVU ERI 2.1) and for Open Falcon (MFD Extractor) I am working at DCS Black Shark config and on Flaming Cliffs2 russian jets (I have to learn Java programing first to modify Joda's LEAVU) also FSX is planned in the future. I use two netwoked PCs: - Mainframe with TH2Go and 3 x 24' screens (external view)+ 8' MFD (left) plugged into DVI slot of 1st graphic card + 8' MFD (right) connected with USB to DVI adaptor. This way I still can use two Nvidias in SLI setup. Joystick is TH HOTAS Warthog. - Networked machine with 17' touchscreen (center), 8' touchscreen (top) and two 10' touchscreens (left and right) for cockpit rendering only. And this is my flight mainframe PC (watercooled): Funny thing is that in room heat build up during flight is enormous. In winter no need to turn heating on, but in summer I have to turn AC on. More pictures to follow in the close future (I hope).
  6. Hi I am not that person you mentioned above. But I really want to make mfds for russian jets with Leavu. There is one big problem with me - I don't know java nor C/C++ programing at all. BUt if no one is going to do this I could try. But I need guided tour in programing first or just "know how" how to disassembly and reassembly code in LEAVU scripts.
  7. Hi Thank you Yoda for the effort you made for LEAVU and now GEAR. I use nine monitors setup (two PC) for playing sims (F-16 Falcon 4 OF, A-10C DCS, F15C FC2). I somewhat like to fly russian fighters. Is it possible to inegrate in new GEAR soft russian radar window and russian style TEWS ? Cheers
  8. Hi All I am in middle of building my home cockpit for FC2/DCS BS/DCS A-10. I realized that here is a problem with displaying MFDs RWR and some other panels on networked client in DCS A-10. When flying F-16 Open Falcon I use tool called MFD extractor. With this soft you can specify some screen areas and then send them over the network to second PC. MFD extractor can exctract these screens even if they are not visible on the main game eg in 3D cockpit mode. I have this question: Is it possible to set fixed position of MFD somewere outside main game screen (but not on second monitor) then get their coordinates and capture them with MFD extractor. Did anyone tried this solution ?
