Finally I found the file that "generates" the effect of smoke during touchdown: Folder: C:\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Bazar\Effects\Explode\SmokeOneGray\High File name: SmokeOneGray.x I try editing the first line (change 0303 by 0101) but the effect wont work, so I back to the backup file.... I can't understand anything inside this file, I think that it's encrypted (?) So I take the easy way, I raplaced this file with another that was renamed (take from folder : C:\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Bazar\Effects\Explode\SmokeOneWhite\High) In the screenshots you can see the change... I'm not 100% happy with it, but just only because I have noticed that the smoke width is smaller than the vehicles... Anyway I will use this one, I think that except for this minimal detail, this looks better and looks more real... So take your own conclutions. I attach some print screens (the after and the before) and the file to change it is a ModMan 7.3 package. Regards Ar Realistic ground smoke-dust mod.rar

  6. But then, why they make new .cmd files? As HungaroJet says, he open the .cmd files with lock on viewer and show us that this efects have been improved... so why to improve something that the game wouldn't show? I'm simply asking... Tez: do you know someone else that may be remember how this files are "activated" in the sim? thanks

  8. I jump to FC2! Now I have the problem with the landing/taxi light, it has no longer 3 sets (off-taxi-landing and then to taxi-off) now it has 2 set (off-taxi-landing and then OFF). This change affects the correct use of my 3 pos toggle switch. Does anybody know how can I change this secuence?? Another ask respect to my last post in this thread, FC2 uses the commands mentioned above? (AP-OTKL-APK ; AZ-L / OBN / AZ-V ; and CAPTURE AUTO/MANUAL) thanks Ar

  11. If we have to live with only 1 effect for this 2 conditions (ground vehicles and wheels touchdouwn) I think that the best option is have a intermediate colour like this: white but a bit darker What do you think???

Well I'm back, I spend about 2 hours searching and proving, and I found the following: As "HungaroJET" says, the vapour vortex has a .cmd file, one for each side (left and right) and only for the next aircraft F15 F16 F18 MIG29K SU27 SU33 AND SU25 (for the rest maybe uses some of those models), and also exist a file call SRYW-POTOK.TGA (that is the texture for this models) Ok.... as I thought, I found all this files "sleeping" into folder FC2....\bazar\world\shapes including the SRYW-POTOK.TGA file wich is in FC2....\bazar\temptextures. I make the next test: - On FLANKER 2.5 delete the vapour .cmd files corresponding to the su-27, make a flight on su-27 and when I pull high g's the vapour didn't appear... So the good news of that is that the vapour doesn't belong to the 3d model of each aircraft... - Next to that, on the installation of FC2, I make a back up of all su-33 .cmd files, and take the old su33 model from FLANKER 2.5 and paste on this folder (I had to paste either the su33 textures on \temptextures). I start a mission of su-33 in FC2, and the model works so... I start to pull high G's to the "old model" , but the vapor never appear... Then I conclude that the old model of the aircraft has no conection with the vapor. The vapor is not working but because is dissabled in some file. I found the next files that conteins lines that make mention to all this files: Shapes.bin (fc2...\bazar) Oldmodels.lua (fc2...\blackshark\data\scripts) and also are listed on effects.dll (fc2...\bin...) So the only way is that to ED helps!!! I let some screenshot from the test:

HungaroJET: have you tryed to paste this .cmd files into the shapes folder and see what happens??? remember that a lot of things are only dissabled in the game (example: tv guided on su-27; by changing the payload you can launch a kh-29 and watch on mfd the "tv" image... like on flanker 2.5) I will take a look to the falnker 2.5! thank for this tips :thumbup: I forgot to mention that I am happy if I only can see the vapor like on flanker 2.5, I don't care too much that it looks "un-detailed"
  17. It looks great!!! but take care with the arguments for move the canards, it seem that they are not working properly on screenshot_38, I realy doubt that you are flying with AOA -30º...   20. Well is good to see that I'm not the only who think on it... :) Sooo.... should I take a look into Flanker 2.5 and check if there is any folder or something that makes this effect? or it is in vane? :S

I been having this problem with the su-27 in a mission that I have created, when I back to the base and want to land, and it looks like the "focus" of the lights came from the tail of the aircraft :S The weird thing is that when I create another mission in wich I start at ramp at night conditions and same fog and clouds settings, I turn on the lights and works well!! I have this problem always that I play the mission that I mention above.. any idea?
  22. Is this lomac 1 or FC1.1xx??? Is the F-18 the only aircraft with this effect??? I never see it in FC2 :cry:

  24. I was wondering why it doesn't appear any more, I remember that in Flanker 2.5 it appears when you pull hard or when you do a high G's turning... In this moment I can't remember if in LOMAC this "detail" appears or not, but I found a screenshot that show it: In FC2 it doesn't appear (as you see in this shot) It would be great that somebody (or ED) can help me/us to get this effect again and get more realism...:pilotfly: Here some real photos:
