ED already said in the past that they are not interested in the Century Series.

Correct, the autotrim is the function of the PTC which is part of the hydromechanical control system.
-
2 years? Absolutely. It wouldn't be 2 years though, it would be over 6 or even more as evidenced by all the other modules in DCS. That's not the problem. The issue is that Razbam has taken longer to release the Strike Eagle than it took McAir to make the real Strike Eagle.

Ah yeah, looks like a typo in the manual.
-
That's a BLU-107.
-
What's a BDU-108?

The Apache was in pre order for 6 months, it wasn't delayed for 6 months, completely false info. Pre order started in October and it released in March. If the Beagle doesn't come out before September, it will have the longest pre order in the game. And so far, nothing indicates that it's coming out anytime soon.
-
According to Razbam it's ready enough. But of course that means very little. ED has no problems with releasing products that aren't ready and neither does Razbam. It could be held back for many reasons but unfortunately we'll never know the actual one.
-
It's not necessarily tied to any one development project, ever since I've been involved with the flight simming scene (over 15 years now) the MoD has always been extremely strict when it comes to data about even obsolete aircraft. The English Electric Lightning particularly had issues regarding the radar and even the flight performance.

Considering that even the EEL ran into classification issues, the Jag is even less likely to be possible. And as geopolitical tensions worsen, this will be a bigger and bigger problem. Probably would make sense for devs to start focus on very early jets instead.
-
Early June was the planned release date, now it's delayed so Razbam are obviously careful what to do or say. Since it only entered close beta testing recently, expect further delays as testers find new bugs and problems.
-
There has never been a pre order in DCS that has lasted for longer than 6 months.
-
Razbam Japan Twitter account had already posted about this delay days ago, talking about confidentiality issues.
-
Very close could still be 2-3 months away, which may be close in terms of DCS updates but it's not what I would define close otherwise.
-
Typically in the history of DCS, content creators getting a module indicated that the release is relatively close. This doesn't seem to be the case here at all. Giving access later, closer to release clearly worked well for other devs in the past. I'm not sure why Razbam would change it unless their goal is to put the hype train into overdrive.
-
Then why give it out so early? If the build is truly that bug ridden and unstable, it's not anywhere near release anyway. So what, will we get a different video every day for the next 3 months until it reaches a basic, acceptable level of quality? (Assuming what you said is correct.) That's just as bad as purposely holding back a module that's already playable to generate hype.
-
These are marketing statements designed to generate sales, hype and discussion. I doubt anyone knows when it will actually release, since delays are inevitable. ED's closed beta testers will most likely find a lot of bugs, ED will wait for Razbam to fix them and we're very easily in Q4. I have no doubt that the Strike Eagle will be the longest pre order in DCS.
-
That's a different product than what's being made for us, looks like both are the same Suite but the pro version may be much more complete than ours.
-
I think, it depends. It's a very delicate process but hyping people up and making people want it more and more could generate sales, engagement, marketing and hype and therefore make more money in the long run. So holding it out in general could be a good idea, but obviously they don't want to overdo this either. Ignore everything that their CEO, Prowler says, he's been proven time after time to be a completely unreliable source of information.
-
Where did they confirm it?
-
This is exactly what they will do. Razbam CEO confirmed that the date won't be published and the release will be a surprise. He also said it's not coming with the May update. Considering that even according to their own SME, the bombing system and TGP aren't done, they aren't even at a stage where he can make videos of them.
-
Broken ASL in the latest video that had to be fixed, TWS had to be refactored a few weeks ago, the whole MN/INS simulation is very suspect, the fact that the ranging sources are completely glossed over, the broken point track in the latest video, the completely identical engine parameters, the Betty voice lines that sound like they are from Jane's with a higher pitch in the last teaser and the new info about the lack of TGP sync for EA clearly shows me a product with a great radar and terrible anything else at release. If they want to deliver a quality product, they need to work on this a lot.
-
Based on the barely functional state of core systems, I would be surprised if it came out before Q4.
-
No, it's not, just a tease.
-
That was before the pod change and the subsequent delay.
