  1. If it was up to Israel, nations around them wouldnt be able to obtain anything more powerfull than AK-47 :)
  2. its (almost) full lenght ducumentary - problem is that it contain lots if mistakes and lies (some parts are pure propaganda) - well ,at least its not as biased as their documentary about six day war (which was crap from A to Z).
  3. I agree, but its easier to do such repairs than to build/buy new tank + replace crew Protection of crew is important because no 1st world country is willing to tolerate high losses unless they are invaded.
  4. 30mm DU round isnt magic want saying "you are dead" - you would need much much more hits compared to less armored tanks. Also Merkava (and some other tanks) can defend itself (APAM round was designed for such purpose).
  5. A-10 mostly (AFAIK) kills tanks by hitting weak deck armor over engine. Merkava 4 dont have such weak spot so it would take much more hits to disable/kill such tank. Also now tanks start having weapons (like APAM) capable of destroying slow flying aircrafts and helicopters. Trophy (ASPRO-A) can neutralize missiles launched at Merkava 4 As tanks like that start to became more and more common life will IMO start to get difficult to tankbusters.
  6. Hi everyone, How effective do you think would GAU-8 be against Merkava 4? Things which lead me to believe that is would be ineffective: - improved top and rear armor (designed for urban combat) - diesel engine behind frontal armor (in this place its not vulnerable to GAU-8) so while hits be GAU-8 would destroy equipment outside of tank, its very unlikely (IMO) that GAU-8 would be able to kill this tank. Also new Israeli 120mm APAM round is supposed to be effective against helicopters and slow flying aircraft (fire control system is designed to be able to track such targets). What do you think?
  7. It should work. WHat happen when you try to open Steam overlay ingame?
  8. It doesnt have to contain drivers in order to have potential compatibility problems.
  9. I know that version that you currently use doesnt install drivers. But I am angry at StarForce that they didnt fixed their compatibility issues in older version and because of that I cannot play several of my games - I cannot trust Starforce that same thing wont happen again with A-10. Because of this I wont buy anything that contain StarFoce.
  10. I refuse to install any game that use StarForce - because of that crap several of my games dont work in Win7 64bit :mad::mad: - so EDs decision to use StarForce means that I wont ever buy it directly from them. Also if release over Steam is significantly delayed (compared to other distibution options), I just wont pay full 60€ price for it. When developer or publisher insist that I have to wait for no reason, I will just play something else and wait for that game to get at least 50% off - I have 200+ other games and it will take me some time just to finish those in my backlog......
  11. Cost would be expenses by DCS in order to sell over Steam. Cut from sold licences isnt expense (DCS isnt spending money). DCS get over 90% of final price when they sell it directly, but because such copies use StarForce, DCS have to pay fee from such sales. DCS get 70% of final price when selling over Steam, which is lower %, but in that case they can use CEG (Steam DRM which is available for free to developers) and game available there can attract many more users (lets be honest, pretty much only hardcore Simulator fans knows that DCS even exist). IMO its better to get 70% from 100K sales than 95% from 10K sales :) Lets not forget that Steam has over 30 000 000 active users.... and quite a few gamers buy only from Steam (like me) and/or will wait for Steam version anyway in order to avoid StarForce (which still have stupid activation limits).
  12. Thare is no associated cost by selling game via Steam. Valve (owner od Steam) just get 30% cut from final price (remaining 70% goes to developer/publisher) - there are no other fees etc. That is much better deal than retail where developer normally gets only about 20-30% of final price compared to 70% when sold over Steam, D2D or Impulse.
  13. Thx, for answer. :) while I was sarcastic, it wouldnt be first time for something like that to happen (I know of games which were promised to be on Steam several years ago and its still not there).
