  1. Update

Emailed Thrustmaster technical support again back in November. Here's the reply in regards to ordering a new gimbal.

"We thank you for your reply and for providing us with that video.

The component that failed on your unit is not available as a spare part and consequently we cannot provide you with a replacement unit.

The only long time reliable solution is the acquisition of a new base. The base (without the metal plate and the joystick handle) is available as a spare part and it can be supplied to you."

    So there you have it.

  2. Lead Doctor

I got onto their (Thrustmaster's) Facebook page and asked them the following question:

Any truth in the rumour that Thrustmaster are no longer supporting (making spares for) the Warthog?

    To which their answer was:

Thrustmaster Hi, false rumour. We of course support all our Warthog owners.

So it would appear that someone somewhere in the customer service/support/parts foodchain either does not know what is available or just doesn't want to supply the part for some reason.

I would suggest that all members of the forum that read this topic should go over to the facebook page and begin asking about this en masse

Interesting. So custumer service is an issue here or thats a false statment. Ill try to order the gimbal again.

  3. how long you use the stick buddy and how did you broke it?

    just curius...

Had it since the Warthog hotas came out. How it broke well that's a good question. It did fall over a year ago but not really sure.

If you can get accurate enough images and dimensions of the broken part you could have it made in CAD and have a remplacement 3D Printed?

    BR

    Rich

I don't know any one that does that and it will be challenging to get it right.

  4. Back in September I was in contact with TM about the gimbal. Pictures and part numbers were exchanged then I got the email of doom.

"Kindly be informed there is no misunderstanding regarding the part.

This part is no longer available, we don't offer it as a spare part any more."

So Yeah been flying with the broken gimbal and just cant handle it any more. Going to use the strongest panel bonding glue around tomorrow as a last hope.

Any thoughts, suggestions or what have you I'm open to listening.

  5. You need to either check the option "Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder." at the very bottom of the "Send PM" page (beneath the editor window)

    OR

you enable this option for all messages you send in your profile (User Control Panel -> Edit Options -> Messaging & Notification... there at almost at the bottom of that box)

Thank you much. Now all is right for one night.

  6. Some one PM me then post here that you did so i dont get hundreds incase its working. I sent out three PMs the last few days. Ive got none back and my message box says i sent 0.

  7. The tower of the airfield under attack is broadcasting the message over all frequencies to alert everyone to help :)

The tower was taken hostage and intruders want ransom plus UH-1 slick that just happens to be yours.:-P Theirs a blue bus coming to pick them up. Trickery? What do you do?

  8. Use triggers and it should work fine I would think.

When units gets destroyed inside trigger of airfield, play the sound.

When enemy aircraft enter trigger of airfield, play the sound.

Yes the problem is you hear the sound all over the map insted of in the area.

  9. Probably use a TIME SINCE FLAG condition since you can control when the mortar starts firing and you can measure how long before the rounds land.

Too bad the BOMB IN ZONE condition doesn't support mortar rounds or that would be the easiest.

A more realistic method would be to use the UNIT DAMAGED or UNIT DEAD condition and list any units within the area being targeted. The first to be damaged or dead could trigger the alarm but that trigger condition could be very large if you have many units to test for.

Time since flag just might be the ticket! Used on shot trigger-time is more-play message to all in the example.miz. the problem is it will go off if any thing on either side shoots. I too wish bomb in zone meant mortar shells, RPGs small arms fire. That would solve half the mess.

Now the sound in zone is the other half.

For that properly we would need a physical siren in the game. That way it could put out sound in the invirement as would a vehical. Now about using unit damaged or dead. The thing is that it can take away from the exspirance. It can work in instances but emagine you just landed the huey or are dropping off a sling load and rounds are coming in. It can take a while some times before something is hit or damaged. So the sound would not go off, yet rounds are landing all around. The only hope now is scripting. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  10. would be cool, especially when I'm kicking around on CA... :)

Or, if you're in the hanger, going through the ramp start, and something unexpected is inbound...

Yes exactly! How would you like to be flying the huey dropping a sling load in a base. The base starts taking artillery rounds or what have you and the sirens start going off. Check out my post in mission builders corner. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122532

  11. Basically I want to be able to hear a siren only in a trigger zone area when rounds are going into a base. I can get it to work messing with radios but would much rather have sound to all in the environment.

Played with triggers and could not get desired affect. Don't know much about scripting and only used mist couple of times.
