  1. Hi, What I currently don't understand about "Wear and Tear" is where this system is applied. You can set the parameters for this in the mission editor, but can these values also be taken over from another mission? Does this only work within a campaign? I guess that the status of the aircraft isn't saved after each mission and adopted for the next mission, regardless of whether these missions are related or not? Greetings Merlin
  2. Hi, I wonder if I'm just a glitch in the universe but my experience with the quality of Pimax products is, to put it nicely, somewhat underwhelming. I got three Crystal headset so far... Nr. 1: no tracking after about a week Nr. 2: no sound Nr. 3: Lots of pixel error on the right display The experience with support is also somewhat mixed. One really tried hard and the questions made sense, but the other was more or less... wait for a firmware update. After two firmware updates without changing the problem, I asked if my issue was even known. I then started asking specific questions about the issue to which I didn't get an answer... but I should wait for the firmware update. Luckily I ordered the headset from unbound xr in the Netherlands (Thank you guys!), and they were nice enough to exchange the device for a new one... and a new... and a new... Greetings Merlin
  3. Hi, to center the view just press Num5 on the numpad there are additional options like Left: Rshift+Rctrl+Num4 Right: Rshift+Rctrl+Num6 Up: Rshift+Rctrl+Num8 Down: Rshift+Rctrl+Num2 Backward Rshift+Rctrl+Num/ Forward: Rshift+Rctrl+Num* Save Position: Ralt+Num0 I have a lot of problems with my crystal but getting openxr to work was no problem. What exacty is not working? Greetings Merlin
  4. Hi, also a problem of the second headset seems to be a misalinement of the two lenses and the picture looks blury in the middle and sharp at the edges (I have decreased the render frame of both eyes in the xr toolkit so it got more obvious). I have tryed to aligne the pictures via the sliders in the pie software but that does not give me the same crip picture of the first headset. Are there any good tools that can help to align both eyes? Greetings Merlin
  5. Hi, yes I did. There was no movement at all and the picture was allways turn 90° to the left. This was the case in PC and stand alone Mode. Now I got the new headset and the tracking works but sound isn´t working korrekt. It will simply disapear after a few minutes. Only restarting the service and the device will solve the problem... for a few minutes. I never had this problem with the oder headset. I must say I don´t like the tracking of the pimax very much because making small movements have a strange effekt like moving backwards an forewards instead of up and down ore at one point the picture allways make a litte "jump". This happens allways and it doesn´t depend on where i sit. Its not a big problem but when sitting still this feels strange. Greetings Merlin
  6. Hello, Oh where do I start, apart from the fact that I can't seem to get the gaming experience as smooth as the G2, even when using the same resolution as I used on the G2. After two weeks the tracking stopped working (PC and stand alone) so I contacted the pimax support. In summary, this was the worst support I have ever experienced. The only thing they did is to write "update software and firmware" Stupidly, I called the PI software, PI tool at the very beginning, which led to them thinking that I was using the wrong software. Based on the screenshots, videos and the version number and that everything worked at the beginning, one could have concluded that I had installed the right software. Even after sending screenshots of the "latest software installed" and "latest firmware installed" messages, all I got back as answer was "update firmware and software". When asked which versions I should have installed... no answer... or is there a way to check the cameras or G sensors... no answer. In between, an engineer was mentioned who should take a look at the problem... Ask again for the engineer... no answer. Luckily I bought the headset from unbound xr in the netherlands. They were so nice and immediately did sent me a new headset... what can I say... tested it for a few minutes and after a short time the sound is gone. After restarting service and headset it works again... for a few minutes. So I tried it on another computer... same problem. I then did a performance test between my old computer 7700K, 3080ti and my new 5900X and 4090 and I can't tell the difference. Compared to the G2, this is a more than noticeable difference. I would even say that the old computer runs smoother at full resolution. Then there is this strange image flickering which is difficult to eliminate... In short, it's really hard for me to understand all the hype in the youtube videos. If foveated rendering isn't the total game changer, I can't understand how anyone can be happy with the headset. Greetings Merlin
  7. I have not used steam vr lately. But yes the G2 at 100% A few other observations: I had some time for more tests and I tryed to use SteamVR but as soon as DCS homescreen pops up DCS crashes (MT Version). The single thread version works and the framerate is the same as MT DCS openXR If I enable turbo mode in openxr I will allways be limited by the mainthread but even at a framerate ob 90 frames the tracking feels does not smooth If I don´t start up the headset bevor turning on the computer the headset will not be detected. The only way to fix the problem is a reboot.
  8. That depends how you define sharper. I mean the picture of the G2 is perfect if you would only look at the small inner circle (something like 20°). A Crystal is "increase the 20° to 90°" and make the picture a little bit sharper. It is for example no problem the read the tacan channel of the F14 in that 90° arc. That is impossible if you use the G2
  9. you mean the picture that bends up and down? Will your fps stay at 90 or is below 90 just playable for you? Can I get your openxr settings?
  10. sorry you are right. The turbo mode is not stupid. The thing is that you can not use it for DCS because it is impossible to get stable 90 fps. And as soon as the framerate drops below 90 it feels worse than below 45 frames in the G2. If the head movement isn´t fluent I get sick very fast. At the moment I have no idea why things are so different between wmr and a pimax headset. An other thing is that if you move the headset a little bit up and down you bend the picture up and down... don´t know how descripe the effect. Maybe that changes with glas lenses but who knows
  11. OK I did some more testing. I find it hard to get a smooth head movement. The settings from this youtube guy may work if you are able to get constant 90 frames but everyone who has ever played knows that that is impossible in dcs. I got the best result if I disable this stupid Turbo Mode. As soon as the framerate drops below 90 stutters are awfull, even worse than below 45 frames in the g2. I get best result if I limit the framerate to 46 fps and force motion repojection. At the moment I would say... Realy great picture but a headset ist more then just screens.
  12. Hi, I got my Crystal on saturday but haven´t had much time playing DCS. The headset did not come with glas lenses (only one set of plastic lenses) but the supplier said they would be send later. Till now I was using a G2 and the picture is compared to the G2 a little bit sharper, but from edge to edge and not only in the middle. The colors are way better than the G2. I found it way easier to spot and track planes in the distance. I allways had the problem that as soon as a plane changed from dot to a rendered object I lost contact or could barley see it. This is way better on the Crystal. Performance: I have only tested openxr with my default G2 dcs settings and the Crystal default resolution result in 25 fps with a 4090. Changing the resolution in openxr to something like the 100% resolution of the G2 and turning on turbo mode in openxr will get me 90 fps above the clouds. But as soon as this drops below 90fps I get an effect like you get without vsync but vertical not horizontal. At the moment I have no Idea how to get rid of it. I haven´t tested what happens if I change the number of "pre rendered frames" in the nvidia settings. Maybe the other pimax users have an idea. Greetings Merlin
  14. Hi, It looks incredible, but is there a way to disable the refection in the IHADSS lens without removing the thing completely? It looks like this thing works like a mirror, but I'm already struggling to get decent fps (VR) but maybe this helps to get a few more. Greetings Merlin
  15. your helicopter is not moving but that thing above your head is moving close to the speed of sound.
