  1. Need help please, I'm trying to make a bind for the F14 Asymmetric thrust limiter off and cover open, else on and closed. I tried creating a line of code based off what Heatblur has in there for the master arm switch "master arm on and cover open else safe and closed" but I've had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, below is what i tried without success:

    {down = device_commands.ENGINE_Asym_Limiter_And_Cover,     up = device_commands.ENGINE_Asym_Limiter_And_Cover, value_down = 1, value_up = 0, cockpit_device_id=devices.ENGINE, name = _('Asymmetric Thrust Limiter Off and Cover Open, else On and Closed'), category = _('Engine Control Panel')},

Still getting many instances of the AIM-54 not going into a loft profile when firing on targets over 35nm away. The missile simply flies straight and level towards the target regardless of  flying above 35k. Almost always in TWS but I've experienced it in STT as well. I've only tested in the AIM-54C, both Mk47 and Mk60.

Are you certain the ACM cover wasn't flipped up during those no loft shots?

Ok so got settings dialed in for custom fan curves and then started maxing out DCS settings. This thing is a beast. I think the only 2 I dont have set to max is the 2 top right dcs settings. Those are at like 80%. Then I couldnt stand the lack of anti-aliasing so I went into the Nvidia control panel and set power to maximum performance and anti-aliasing to 8x.

This took care of pretty much everything, no jagged edges like before but couldnt push those settings with the 2080Ti. I am Vsync'd at 60fps and it doesnt budge from there. In the FPS counter I see it saying GPU bound in green with theoretical fps between 145 and 240 fps. Havent tried to uncheck Vsync yet to see if I get screen tearing.

So far its been worth every dollar, DCS just looks amazing now!

Try using the "vsync fast" option in the Nvidia control panel and turn off vsync in game setting. This eliminated screen tearing for me while allowing high FPS.

  5. In regards to your GPU utilization question, absolutely what kksnowbear said. Also your GPU is currently only rendering in 1080p which is further exacerbating the CPU bottleneck. Switch to 1440p panel and upgrade your CPU you will see a massive difference.

Btw have you tried launching the game in the recently released muti thread version? That should help your older CPU.

Doing alittle research on their site but…is this true ? And I also see folks getting 2 of these and that can get alittle pricey.

As Dos mentioned, you need Simshaker sound module, with that software you can customize it per airframe. I love it and can't fly without it!

  7. 27-30" is too big if you plan on sticking with 1080p, depending how close you sit to your screen the pixels will most likely be noticeable. I would recommend at least going 1440p, even if it means you have to dial back some graphic settings. Most people upgrade their monitors once a decade, so bear that in mind when you make the purchase. Say you end up snatching a used 3070 next year for cheap, its going to be mostly wasted if you're stuck with a 1080p panel.

  8. Is there anything you guys can do about the carrier turns? I'm not sure why the carrier needs to turn so much on map that's mostly ocean. Had a 3 ship on tonight trying to do an ICLS landing and had the carrier turn on us twice during CASE 3 procedures, very frustrating.

ETA: there is also some issue with the carrier when it turns, it bounces violently sometimes knocking planes off the deck while parking brake is on.

Thanks for clearing that up. And do you need to extend/lengthen the usb cables coming from your devices before they go into the usb hub?

I didn't need to extend any of my device cables since I mounted the USB hub to my chair the wires didn't have to go far. The only wire I replaced with a longer one is the USB cable going from the hub to PC.

Sorry for dropping in here with an incredibly noob-question but I found this through a search: I noticed the cables are neatly tucked away with that chair but I have always wondered how people manage to get their usb cords reach the desktop? Is there something like usb cable extensions or usb boxes? I never find this info on youtube videos where people show their gaming setups, or even complete pit builds. Where do all the usb cables from all the hardware go to? (not only stick and throttle but also ICP, DED, MFD's, other panels...)

I use a USB hub, so only one USB to the PC.

Upgraded my RTX 2060Super to RTX 3060Ti, but small gain in DCS FPS

New drivers, cleaned out old textures directory. Kept same DCS settings 2560X1440 @ 144hz.  May be 10%, at best gain FPS in DCS 2.7.16

Disappointed, but at least nothing broke. May be its my 3 year old HP Z440 with Xeon E-1630v4 3.7 GHZ thats bottlenecking . According to YT game vids, I should be seeing 25%-35% gain in FPS.

Lowest gain in FPS is in AH-64D. Where I really wanted FPS boost, but that has not come about.

New GPU is PNY XLR8 RTX 3060Ti LHR (2.0).

According to PC Builds website thats a 31% CPU bottleneck at 1440p. Are you testing it singleplayer or multiplayer?

Other things to try which have helped me in the past, disable g-sync/g-sync compatible mode and enable vertical sync "fast" in the Nvidia control panel, (disable v-sync in game option).

  12. WD40 is a great rust preventative but not a great lubricant. The best way to do it is take it apart, line the plastic half moon channels with packaging tape, then lubricate with lithium grease on both the metal rails and the packaging tape lined half moon channel mounts. I did mine like that and they have been perfect for over 2 years of heavy use. I get absolutely no binding/sticking when trying to move the throttle from the very top as it would when stock.

That is a very nice setup Hector.

The center cushion is much better than what I posted from the online reseller.

I wonder if using a car chair would interfere with VR HMD?  Trying to turn around and having that bit of the chair right at the back of your head/neck. hmm.

Thanks! Yeah I was worried about my headrest interfering with my headset which is why I didn't incorporate one in my design.
