And off topic but responding to an above comment - I'd strongly recommend considering taking the entire one second to reset trim on a GA aircraft before taking off again.  Nothing happens that fast at GA speeds, but intentionally lifting off while mis-trimmed nose-up is setting you up for potentially severe problems.  I'm not saying it *can't* be done obviously... but from a TEM standpoint, is it a great idea?  I've been a flight instructor for over 20 years and have done more touch n gos than I could count in everything from Cubs to airline jets... Yea that's what I've been doing.  I was holding out for a more elegant solution. Thanx!   Flaps from half to auto immediately after achieving a positive rate of climb seems to reset the 12 bars stab angle lessening the need for as much forward stick position at takeoff.

Once on the deck I should immediately hit the trim reset then set flaps to half. After rotating and positive rate of climb confirmed, gear up and flaps to auto?

Resolved. I was using the wrong template, the one for the AI planes instead of the F18 block 20 player template.

Why doesnt the template come with a lua file and the entries preloaded.  I have 22 files in the template zip, all converted to BC3 DDS files. So presumably I have to add all these names into a newly created description.lua file to get my skin to work. Also, why do the user liveries have a completely different layout from the ED F18 template ?

Ahhhh ok that makes perfect sense! Thanx for all the excellent responses!   I also fly the T45C and it doesn't do this. I can only assume this function isn't modeled, at least not yet.

Landing practice at Nellis. When I take off then level at 900 and bank left for my downwind leg my altimeter which is set to radar suddenly changes to barometric (in the HUD) and displays 2000ft then once I roll out of the turn it switches back to radar and displays 900.  Usually this switch doesnt happen until Im above 5000ft then the barometric altimeter is enabled.

These are excellent. The only thing Im not clear on is what format these should be saved as. The specular psd files, should those be saved as BC3 as well as the texture psd files ?

Looking for a tutorial on how to use the ED provided livery template for the Hornet. Do I simply need to paint each of the PSDs as I like then convert them to BC3 DDS files ?  They are laid out different than the user posted liveries I see posted in User files section.   Thanx!

Brilliant mod. This brought me back to DCS after initially downloading the sim and not being terribly intrigued by the Su25 or the P51 (although the P51 is great, trail draggers just arent my thing)  Thank you all involved!
