  1. Thanks Snacko for the simple settings. I did the upgrade last night from the open alpha so my initial thought was that I wouldn't need to delete and reinitialize some of those files. I just remembered, though, that the 2.5 install asked if I wanted to transfer my open alpha info over upon completion of install. To be safe, I guess I'll just go ahead and delete those files as it'll only cost me some reload time. Eh, more time to sit back and drink a beer.
  2. Budget finally allows for a TM HOTAS purchase and it’s on its way. Will I need to map all the buttons for A10C or will it be recognized with only minimal tweaking required? Currently I have another Joystick mapped so I’m figuring I’ll need to clear that first. Will be using 1.x DCS World for now. Thanks in advance!
  3. I was having the same issue with takeoffs. I've "flown" a lot of sims in realistic mode and never had the issues I was having with this Spit ... until I stumbled upon one thing that made all the difference. Lined up on the runway, all trimmed out and joystick curves set per the guides you've referenced. First, smooth throttle up to the 8 or so pounds, but more important keep the stick pulled straight back. This gets me rolling mostly straight down the runway with some minor pedal work, then I gently release pressure on the stick to get the nose level and tail up. Build speed and pull back to lift off. There is even mention in the manual about taxiing with the stick pulled back.
  4. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/anti-aliasing-nvidia-geforce-amd-radeon,2868.html Wasn't sure if this should be put under performance, or video, or general discussions ... move as you see fit. This is an excellent article by Tom's Hardware (a pretty good general site with lots of other info, too) that will provide a base understanding and some tips on tuning your card. I was aware of a lot of these items, but there were a few new ones ... plus it's a nice refresher.
  5. Followed the instructions on the sticky post in the main A-10 forum. Email addresses match between both my DCS account and forums account. Logged out and in from both multiple times. FYI, there is no reference to the Beta forums at the DCS site under my "payments" or "downloads" areas as mentioned in the sticky post. I've been in the Beta since October and have not had issues getting into the Beta forums. Lots of great reference, tips, etc. in there that I would like to still have access to. Thanks in advance. ****************UPDATE**************** Nevermind. Cleared my cache and I'm good.
  6. 2 weeks ... then 2 weeks after that.
  7. "Now I just need to learn how to land correctly ..." Landing the A-10 is the easiest part of this sim. Not appearing as a flaming crater or grease skid on the runway is the challenge. My biggest assistance in training is the "active pause" and "pause" function.
  8. I just make sure I have the correct waypoint selected, steer towards it and get it centered in the HUD, make sure I'm at the altitude I want then engage the ALT/HDG mode of the autopilot. Bingo, you can now take care of other cockpit functions without nursing the stick. If all else fails, you can pause or active pause. I have not put in too much flight time yet, but what I usually do is repeat the tutorials more than a few times to get a complete understanding of the functions required.
  9. I'm running on Win7 64 bit, but using the 32 bit .exe so I can use TrackIR. I was having issues with the hotkeys until I started running TrackIR as the admin. no more issues after that. FYI, I'm using the Numpad keys as previously stated, for my hot keys. Make sure to clear the keys in the sim first.
